I am a cat mom to 2 playful, cuddly adopted babies. I recently became a volunteer at a cat shelter, which gives me so much purpose. I have a full time job Monday-Friday. I am looking to occasionally pet sit on weekends and early mornings on weekdays.

I am most knowledgeable about cats. Let me know if your cat has a preferred toy, treat, or hiding spot. Please let me know if there is something they don't like - I want to become their friend as soon as possible. I do love dogs, but I am a short lady, so I am most comfortable with small/medium sized dogs. Let me know if they are big barkers or on the quiet side. As with cats, I want to be their friend as soon as possible so any tips on winning their heart are welcome. Are there any behaviors or medical conditions I should be aware of? Is there something they are not allowed to do or eat?
A typical day
My love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation, and this is clearly portrayed in my interaction with pets. I love throwing the ball with dogs, and using a laser or fishing toy with cats. Once I am comfortable with a dog, I am happy to take them on long walks around the neighborhood or park. Like people, pets need their space, and sometimes knowing you're there is enough. I am more than happy to bring a book, and just spend some time on the couch, keeping your pet company. I mostly work remotely, so I am open to bringing my laptop and working from your place if you need an extended visit. I love plants, too! I will water your plants or garden at no extra charge.

Pet care experience
I have experience taking care of a high medical needs cat. I also have experience with deaf and blind cats. I understand each pet is an individual and will adjust my care as I get to know them. Some pets love human interaction and others need their space. I’m absolutely ready to kiss and hug them or give them the distance they need to feel safe. Nothing like the smell of fresh litter in the morning!

We literally could not be happier with the care we got from Vanessa. This was our first extended time away since adopting Finn where a friend or relative (usually his grandma) was not available to cat-sit so we were pretty nervous how all of this would work. Finn is extremely nervous with new people and even with ones he’s met a few times. But Finn absolutely loved Vanessa as her photos and videos easily showed. Within her first visit, she had photos of him rolling over to show his belly - the ultimate sign that he was so comfortable with her. We really appreciated Vanessa’s communication with us during the entire process. There is a 100% chance we will hire her again. Anyone who’s nervous about leaving their separation-anxiety cat alone for a few days should really be confident Vanessa is going to go a long way in making you comfortable.
Vanessa was our first experience bringing someone in (other than a close family or friend) to feed and hang out with Finn. We honestly expected him to hide under the bed the whole time she was here, but he warmed up to her immediately, even showed his belly within the first 15 minutes! (per the pictures that Vanessa kindly sent us). We are so relieved and also excited to have re-hired her for the upcoming holiday weekend.
Vanessa is a pleasure to work with - relaxed, pleasant and professional: she gave me confidence that my beloved critters would receive competent and reliable care. The app facilitated an easy exchange and the photos at each visit are a comfort. Vanessa will be at the top of my list to ask for assistance next time I’m leaving town.
