Safety, trust & environment
My home is a calm, clean, cat-friendly environment - no loose hazards, secure spaces, and a routine that keeps animals feeling settled. With five cats of my own, I’m practiced at introducing new animals carefully and reading their comfort level every step of the way. In your home, I follow your instructions closely and treat your space with respect. I make note of any hiding spots, food preferences, behavioral cues, and anything else that helps your pet feel at ease. Medications are administered carefully and on schedule, and I stay observant for any changes in behavior or health. Whether in my home or yours, my priority is a therapeutic experience for all.
Information Vanessa S. would like to know about your pet
Before your pet’s first visit, I like to know as much as possible about who they are, not just their care routine, but their personality. I do require a meet-and-greet before taking on new clients. The more I understand going in, the smoother and lower-stress the experience is for everyone. A few things that are especially helpful to know: Routine: Feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any dietary restrictions or food sensitivities. Medical needs: Current medications, dosage, timing, and the best way to administer them. Any health conditions I should monitor or be aware of. Behavior & personality: Are they shy or social? Do they hide when stressed? Any triggers I should avoid? How do they typically respond to new people or environments? Comfort & preferences: Favorite spots, toys, or routines that help them feel settled. Whether they prefer space or company. Emergency info: Your vet’s contact information and any known allergies or conditions that could require quick action. For cats especially, the small details matter; knowing that your cat only drinks from a running faucet or needs 20 minutes before they’ll come out from under the bed helps me give them exactly the kind of care they need from day one.
A typical day
A typical day starts with feeding and a gentle check-in, letting your pet set the tone for how much interaction they want. Some are ready to play right away, others need a little time to warm up, and I follow their lead either way. Throughout the day I make time for play sessions with wands, toys, or whatever they respond to best, along with quiet companionship for cats who prefer to just be near someone without a lot of fuss. Because I work from home, I’m typically able to bring my work with me and stay for extended periods as needed giving your pet a calm, unhurried visit. Feeding, medications, and any specific care instructions are handled on schedule, and I send updates and photos so you always know how things are going. For dogs, visits include a walk or outdoor time along with play and companionship based on their energy level and routine.

Pet care experience
I’m a work-from-home sitter based in Lago Vista with over ten years of experience caring for cats, and I grew up with dogs. While my husband and I have worked as a duo in the past, these days it’ll be me caring for your pets while he stays home with ours. We have five cats of our own, so I understand firsthand how different each pet can be — their routines, quirks, and the specific ways they prefer to be approached. I take a calm, thoughtful approach and follow your care instructions closely, whether that’s medications, specific feeding routines, or simply letting them set the pace. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure while you’re away. I focus primarily on local clients, which allows me to provide consistent, reliable care and be fully present for each one. I’ve had dogs for most of my life and while we have all cats now, I consider my time with your dog as my puppy fix since I can't have one of my own right now. I have a genuine love and respect for all life and creatures. While your pets are in my care, you can expect clear communication, swift responsiveness, respect for your home, and care that’s kind, consistent, genuine, therapeutic and dependable.

Reviews
Steven and Vanessa are an incredible team. They take great care of our pets, and go above and beyond to make us feel good being away from home. Will definitely use them again!
From the minute Steven walked into our house, both my dogs thought he was their new best friend! He is patient, sweet and kind to my pups! Steven is reliable and trustworthy! I highly recommend him!!
Steven is great with our dog... and our kid. Suffice to say, we’d leave him in charge of either. You’ll never meet a more responsible soul to care for whatever you put him in charge of. 10/10, would recommend.
My sweet pup is loved like one of my children. I would not trust just anyone to watch my beloved dog (in fact the list is pretty short) BUT I absolutely trust Steven to take care of him. He is responsible, punctual and most importantly a lover of animals.
