I appreciate when the owner lets me know what their pets usual routine is like, that way I can keep the routine similar for the pet. Of course, their pets temperament is very important for me to know. If there’s certain situations that should be avoided, that’s crucial information for me to know.
A typical day
Morning rubs and cuddles, yard time, walks and multiple play breaks to break up the day. I personally have a pretty low maintenance routine, so I’m able to be flexible with the needs of each individual dog that stays with me.

Pet care experience
I founded my own dog rescue organization last year that saves dogs that are out of time at Central Valley shelters and find them homes here in the Bay Area. I've been studying dog behavior for the past 2 years and I practice positive reinforcement methods for all training I do as well counter conditioning work to help older dogs that may have some issues. Dogs are my life, I love hanging out with them, working with them, rescuing them and everything that goes with it. Rest assured that your dog will be having a great time when they are left with me, from going on walks, to sunbathing in the big fenced in backyard. With full house privileges, in and out privileges and a large fenced in secure backyard. - your dog will be having such a great time they will hardly notice you're gone!

I'm extremely happy to have found Vanessa to watch my dogs. She has been a consistently great communicator, accommodated some of my schedule changes, and took great care of my Klondike and Yukon. I came home to two tired dogs and couldn't be happier!
We recommend Vanessa very highly for her thoughtfulness and gentleness with our cat Penny, and 15 year old Labrador Quinn. Vanessa took great care of our pets and our home while we were away for a week celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary. It was a real comfort knowing our pets and our home were in good hands. Each day, she sent pictures and updates to let us know everything was going well. Our cat Penny isn’t quick to make new friends, but she made friends with Vanessa faster than we expected. By the week’s end, Penny was curling up with her, and purring for her petting. As a bonus, she was also very helpful in giving us guidance about our puppy, Cooper. As a dog trainer, she gave us some helpful advice on some training exercises we can do to help him be more focused and confident with us. Cooper is a good puppy, but like all puppies, we need ways to bond with him and become a good family member. Vanessa gave us really helpful advice on feeding and training with Cooper. Vanessa was really helpful for us, for our dogs and our cat, for older dogs as well as puppies. ---
We have hired Vanessa twice to house-sit and look after our cat, and she has been great to work with each time! She's been very responsive and left our house in perfect condition. Thank you, Vanessa!
