Pet care experience
Hi, thanks for stopping by my profile! My first dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was born with a heart defect, and I also had a lovely rescued Greyhound from Battersea Dogs Home. I now share my home with Cody, my rescued mongrel from Thailand and during lockdown I also had a foster dog I rehabilitated, from Romania (he has now been re-homed). I gave up my Airbnb business to rehabilitate Cody - she’s made amazing progress so far, and continues to surprise me every day! I hold a certificate in dog training & dog handling and regularly board dogs in my home. I have also volunteered at dog shelters in London and abroad (Mayhew, Battersea Dogs Home & Soi Dog Foundation are a few of the larger dog shelters), so am used to all kinds of dogs, especially the more nervous types. I love spending time around dogs and taking them out for walks - I find it very therapeutic and love seeing them happy 🙃 I’m super fit, and have competed in triathlons, obstacle course runs inc the Spartan Trifecta and even a 100K ultra marathon. I also practice yoga and meditation daily. DROP INS: For dog / cat / other pet feeds, garden time and cuddles. I have previous experience with bearded dragons (happy to feed it live insects like worms, crickets & cockroaches), hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as being a cat and dog owner. I have experience with rescue cats & have myself owned (or rather have been owned by) Burmese, British Shorthairs, Siamese, and a Birman! I have also looked after quite a few Maine Coons. MULTI-PET HOUSEHOLDS: For pet owners with multiple pets in the same household, rate is £5 per additional pet, not double the standard pet rate! DOG WALKING SERVICE: I usually take the dogs to Eel Brook Common, Bishops Park, Brompton or Fulham Cemetery, Hurlingham Park or South Park. Only 1 dog per walk (can walk with mine if preferred, please ask); 2 dogs only if they are from the same household. I offer discounts for hourly walks, and if you have more than one dog per household needing to be walked together. Please be aware that unless requested, I generally do not take tons of photos of dogs on each dog walk, as it takes my attention away from the dog. Lacking in the multi tasking skills department when it involves holding a dog on a lead with one hand, camera in the other & trying to get a dog to pose when it would rather be sniffing its surrounds or greeting other dogs! I’m also just as bad at taking selfies with dogs 🤣 but good at taking photos of your dog in action at home. AREAS COVERED: West Brompton, Earls Court, Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green. DAY CARE SERVICE: I live in a maisonette with a private, secure fenced garden, with my dog for company, as well as plenty of dog toys for stimulation. No more than 1 dog at a time. DOG BOARDING SERVICE: Overnight care for your dog with my resident dog who is calm, gentle and used to living with other dogs. She is, however, not crazy about high energy dogs bouncing or barking in her face. Calm to medium energy dogs preferred for boarding. * Please note, I can no longer board intact male dogs, as it’s not fair on my female dog. Dogs must also be housetrained please. ** I have cats at home, so can only board calm dogs that don’t chase cats. If you’re unsure, we can do a cat test at my house, free of charge; often dogs will interact differently with cats in a home environment, than outdoors. OTHER SERVICES: Free pick up / drop off within a 1 mile radius, otherwise £10. Any questions, fire away! 🐕🩵🐈
Reviews

Vanessa was wonderful. She was thorough and professional, and you can tell she has a deep love for dogs. We will definitely be calling on her again!

Vanessa was lovely with my 9 week old puppy. She loved her and felt very safe around her. So much so that she napped for long on her lap. Very glad!

Couldn't be happier with Vanessa's services, she was amazing from start to finish. This was my first time using a drop-in sitter so was a little bit anxious, but Vanessa made the whole process seamless. My cat warmed to her very quickly and Vanessa's thoughtful and detailed updates put us at ease and made us smile every day while we were away. We came home to a very happy and well-looked after cat, I can highly recommend using Vanessa's services!

Vanessa was absolutely amazing looking after my two cats. She sent me pictures and videos during every visit, keeping me updated on how they were doing, which gave me complete peace of mind. I’ve never used a sitter before, but I felt my cats were in such good hands and trusted Vanessa one hundred percent. They were happy, cared for, and I could relax knowing they were safe. I can’t recommend her enough and will definitely be booking her again. Thank you so much, Vanessa you’ve been fantastic!
