I am an experienced licensed veterinary technician and my love for animals started at a very young age. Pet care has always come naturally for me and I knew very early on that I wanted a career working with animals. Growing up, I cared for many different pets from cats & dogs to birds & reptiles! My experience grew when I worked at a pet store for several years, eventually teaching puppy training classes, then went to school to become a veterinary technician. Additionally, I have interned at the Oakland Zoo, volunteered at my local animal shelter, and foster dogs with a local rescue. I’m currently employed at a veterinary hospital, so I’m always handling animals with different temperaments and medical needs. Whether you have a young, energetic pet, one who's nervous around new people, or a fur baby with special needs, I know I can provide the best care for them!

I will always keep you updated with photos and other details when your fur babies are in my care! Whether your pet is in training, on a certain diet, or follows a specific routine, my goal is to keep everything consistent so that your pet is comfortable and you are worry-free. My dogs are very friendly and have welcomed several different small foster dogs into our home with open paws! Whether your dog is young or older, your pup will have a safe place to feel comfortable and relax. I am very experienced with special needs dogs, seniors, and dogs that require medications and extra care. I also have experience with obedience training and can resume structure and basic training with your puppy or younger dog. Please keep in mind that, for their safety, your dog will be crated or secluded to a small area/room of the house when unattended.

Vanessa filled in for our usual sitter who was out of town and did a great job. Our 3 cats enjoyed her company and even our shy boy came out to say hello before retreating to his hiding spot under the bed. She was very communicative, sending us pictures and videos of the boys. We'll definitely ask her to look after them again in the future!

Schedule
*****Please read my availability carefully, as I know my work schedule may not work with every pet’s routine.***** I work at an animal hospital four to six days a week, so my services can be provided before and after my shifts as well as on my days off. My overnight stays consist of 8-12 hours in the home from the time I arrive in the evening to the time that I leave in the morning. On the days that I work, I could be away from your home for up to 12 hours at a time, so please keep this in mind if your pet doesn’t do well at home alone during the day. I am available for midday drop-ins on my days off, and occasionally on my lunch breaks if your home is very close to my workplace. Please take these things into consideration when booking and I will do my very best to work with your schedule so that your pets receive the very best care!
