I retired from banking and with my husband live on our small farm in the country. We built what we call the dog arena for exercising our personal dogs and I intend to use it to also exercise my clients dogs. I am available most weekends and week days. I was working a part time job at a doggie daycare but recently decided that I would prefer to be home with my pups and yours!

I would want to do a meet and greet before scheduling your dog for boarding or daycare. I will need to know if your pet has any specific needs, I need to see to. Also it’s always good to give me an outline of their routine at home so I can try to follow their schedules somewhat. Schedule early because openings will be limited so I can concentrate on your dog having a fun, safe time away from home!

We have a lot of land for long walks including a large fenced arena. I have a herding ball and some agility equipment up there and it’s an awesome place to play fetch or tug. I plan to allow my clients to use my arena when they want to. I have many toys for your dog to supervise play with and I also have dog puzzles and a flirt pile for them to play with. In summer months, we will have a small pool for them to play in!

I have over forty years of dog experience. I bred German Shepherd’s for fifteen years. I have taken obedience, agility, and Nose work from local professional trainers and have done puppy, beginner, intermediate and advanced obedience with three of my dogs. I also worked for 1.5 years at a doggie daycare in Utica. I want to do my doggie daycare on a small scale so your pet receives individual attention. I have seen places doing 25- 50 dogs with only one or two people watching them and I feel there is a great need for care on a much smaller scale. So here I am!

Vanessa took great care of our Lady, a 6 month old berner pup. She worked with her on tricks and socializing with the other dogs while allowing her to play outside in the snow and taking really good care of her. Would love to have her dog sit for us again and Lady would agree
Sweetie Pie, our Sheltie has stayed with Vanessa multiple times when we have been on vacation or in emergencies. Vanessa's love of animals is evident in your every interaction with her. She is reliable, communicates well, and is very responsible. You can clearly see her extensive experience with animals and dogs in particular. Sweetie Pie loved staying with her and being part of the household of dogs when there. Sweetie always got the VIP treatment when staying with Vanessa. The outside fenced-in play arena is great for a dog that needs a little more exercise.
Vanessa has watched our sheltie Marshmallow several times in the last year, including a two-week stay while we went on a cruise. Marshmallow just loves her and became best buddies with her sheltie Twilight! There's a big fenced-in play area outside and lots to sniff and see out in the country, including Vanessa's two horses. Marshmallow gets along great with all the dogs, including the big dog Badger, who is as gentle as can be with the little ones. We love that Vanessa gives such individualized attention and like that she only takes one or two dogs at a time. So much easier on Marshie than going to a big impersonal kennel where there's dozens of barking, stressed out dogs. Much nicer to go visit Vanessa in the quiet countryside and get to be in the house and laze on the couch or play with dog buddies. We will definitely bring Marshmallow back any time we need an overnight or pet sitting.
