Adore all animals, especially dogs!
My family & I have owned 4 pugs within the last 14 years. The first two lived to be 13 & died from old age. And we currently have 2 still with us - one that just turned 5 in July & one that just turned 1 in April. My parents primarily walk & feed our dogs due to our schedules. Though, I am the one who does their hygiene; baths, brushing their coats, cleaning their ears, wrinkles, & teeth, as well as doing their nails. I have been surrounded by all types of dogs growing up, with some of them being family member’s dogs & others being my neighbor’s dogs (Huskies, German Shepherds, Labs, Jack Russell Terriers, Frenchies, etc.). I grew up in a dog neighborhood & have played with & walked multiple breeds & ages of dogs. I absolutely adore dogs! Later on in life, my family would like to adopt elder dogs from shelters to give them lots of love, care, & most importantly a home for their final years (or however much time they have left). I would love to work with you and your pet(s)!

I always treat the pets I work with (and the homes I stay in when applicable) with respect and care. I always abide by the owners wishes & what they are comfortable with. For example, if they prefer their dog to not interact with other individuals or dogs while on walks, I will ensure this boundary is upheld. I also prioritize understanding the pet I am working with and listening to their signals and body language. If schedules permit, I always suggest an initial meet and greet with me, the pet, and the owner to ensure everyone feels comfortable and on the same page.

Vanessa did a great job caring for our two dogs and was very communicative throughout our trip. Her care included walks, feeding, and daily meds. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for anyone needing reliable care for their pets.
Vanessa is awesome! She lets us know when she's on her way, flexible when the pup is in a weird mood, and stays calm and gets them going. Such a great help!
Vanessa was great despite our pup being tired! She followed Maggie’s lead on what she needed, even though it was just a short walk, and gave her good attention and care!
Vanessa is awesome! She was immediately comfortable with our tall, gangly greyhound puppy. She always texts when she's on her way. Our pup gets a great walk with her - they see the neighborhood and meet other pups and people along the way! I definitely recommend her!
I’m glad I found Vanessa. She is punctual and really makes sure that she is doing everything as expected. I strongly recommend her! I will be using her for future dog walks.

Schedule
I’m currently working part time at George Mason University (where I graduated with my undergrad degree in May 2024 and will be graduating with my Master’s in May 2026) and interning with local law enforcement! I am seeking full-time employment, but while I got through that process, I have opened my bookings back up (after being closed for ~2 years) and am extremely eager to meet and work with new clients. If given enough notice, I can move my schedule around to meet your needs (for the most part). Though, weekdays I am generally available around lunch time and in the evenings, with my weekend availability being open completely. I am willing to do the best I can to make conflicting schedules work!

- I would appreciate it if I was made aware of a dog’s special needs (if applicable) and specific behavior tendencies (e.g. puller on walks). I favor friendly dogs (prefer no biters), but as long as an owner is transparent with me I can handle other situations. Dogs with special needs are no issue, I would just like to learn more about their lifestyle, etc before booking.
