With my own crazy wirehaired vizsla, growing up going to work with my mum on a smallholding, and volunteering with a rehoming charity, I have a strong affinity with animals of all sizes! I adore working alongside dogs and cats and want to dedicate this phase of my life to their care. With over 10 years of experience as a pet sitter, walker and volunteer, plus experience on a farm, I have a lot of experience with animals and reading them. Each animal is different and learning how to read them is vital. I've cared for and looked after puppies and older dogs so I recognise the importance of a slow sniffy-walk alongside mental stimulation. I believe in force-free training methods so there's always lots of games or treats to be had! Having fun with dogs is what I absolutely love to do and each dog walk I go on is packed with engaging games. As much as I love dogs, I also have a soft spot for cats and other small animals. I frequently look after my neighbour's and family's cats, rodents and birds. I'm always happy to pop in to let the cats out/in, feed and water, whenever necessary. I'll follow the cat on how much attention they want (from experience many don't want that much interaction)!

Training a working-dog to fit into family life wasn't easy, but it means I have all the equipment and knowledge to look after your pup. I have a number of different toys including tugg-e-nuff toys, long lasting chew-proof balls and a variety of softer squeaky ones! I also have a variety of high value, good quality treats, but obviously if your dog is on a specific diet, please let me know.

Vanessa was great! Very professional, and took good care of my dog while I was out of town. She has a great affinity with dogs, Rowdy was not nervous or worried when I got back which he sometimes is when I've been away, would highly recommend Vanessa!

We found Vanessa when looking for a house sitter to take care of our dog and we are so happy we found her. Vanessa was very reassuring in regards to our dog's needs and we received daily updates and pictures while we were away. Schedule
I'm available throughout the day for walks/drop-in visits. If you have a nervous or slightly reactive dog I can go outside of the usual busy walking times to ensure me and your pup have an enjoyable walk.
