Safety, trust & environment

I focus on creating a safe, calm, and positive environment for every pet in my care. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and comfort levels while also making sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, enrichment, and affection. I understand that every animal adjusts differently in new environments, so I use patient, low-stress handling techniques to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I follow routines and instructions closely so pets can stay happy, comfortable, and relaxed while you’re away. I also have two fur babies of my own who are basically my children. One is a rescue with a difficult past and the other struggles with anxiety, so I truly understand the importance of patience, trust, and treating every pet like family.

Information Vanessa C. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and comfort level so I can provide the best care possible. Important things for me to know ahead of time include feeding schedules, medications, allergies, fears or anxieties, reactivity to people or other animals, escape tendencies, favorite activities, training cues, and anything that helps your pet feel safe and comfortable. I work in animal rescue and have experience handling dogs and cats of all temperaments, including shy, anxious, reactive, and behavioral cases. Behavioral issues alone will not prevent me from accepting a booking. The most important thing is honesty about your pet’s behavior, triggers, and needs so I can make sure your pet stays safe, comfortable, and well cared for while in my care.

A typical day

Drop-In Visits: Drop-in visits are tailored to your pet’s individual routine and comfort level. Visits can include feeding, potty breaks, playtime, medication administration if needed, enrichment activities, litter box care, and plenty of attention and companionship. Dog Walks: Walks are customized based on your dog’s age, energy level, and personality. Please let me know if your dog enjoys a calm neighborhood stroll, extra exercise, sniff-heavy enrichment walks, or more active outings, I focus on keeping walks safe, structured, and enjoyable. Doggy Day Care: I currently offer personalized daytime care and adventure-style outings rather than traditional in-home daycare. Depending on your dog’s needs and comfort level, daycare may include park visits, trail walks, enrichment activities, supervised outings, car rides, rest breaks, and one-on-one attention. They also include a pup cup or doggy style snack. The day lasts about 4 hours and the events of the day will be discussed and personalized to your pets needs during our initial meeting.

Vanessa is truly an advocate for all animals. Her attentiveness and dedication to each individual animal is second to none. She will give the utmost care to every pet under her watch, no matter what kind of personality. I have seen her work with a dog with severe anxiety and that dog after one year later is almost a completely different dog. She will treat your dog like her own, with the love and the respect our four legged friends deserve.
