With my background as a vet assistant in an emergency animal clinic and many years working at Portland's high-volume spay/neuter clinic for community cats, I bring a wealth of experience to cat care. Whether your cat is outgoing, shy, or even feral, I've got the knack for making all types of feline friends. In fact, several long-term clients have told me I'm the only pet sitter their fearful cats have ever warmed up to. I'm very thorough with cat care—ensuring fresh water, clean food dishes, and daily-scooped litter boxes. Beyond the basics, I'm skilled in administering medications and subcutaneous fluids. I also have a clear understanding of cat body language; I know exactly when to offer a comforting pet or just give your kitty some space. As a cat parent myself, I totally understand the anxiety of being away from them, which is why I make a point to send daily updates and cute photos to keep you connected. Vanessa has been a wonderful pet sitter to my cat for many years! He requires to be fed at specific times due to his medications and vanessa is always right on time. Never missing a meal or medication! I have used her for many years and would recommend her to anyone needing their furry friend to be watched over.
If I could hire one person to care for my pets when I am away, it would be Vanessa. She is not only incredibly competent and knowledgeable about routines and health care for animals - particularly cats -, and will administer medicine and follow directions to a tee, but she has an innate and intuitive sense when it comes to her approach to and care of them. It seems that all animals trust and love her on the spot! Her easy-going nature, intelligence, warmth, and sense of humor make her a delight to work with, and I felt completely reassured when away from home. Plus, her daily photos of my pets were a highlight. I cannot recommend Vanessa highly enough. She is a star!
Vanessa is super reliable, friendly and loves all creatures! I've known Vanessa for almost 10 years and worked with her at a cat spay/neuter clinic, and have seen firsthand her passion for animals. Vanessa is awesome. She has taken care of my cat a few times and I always feel the most comfortable I ever Have, leaving him with another person. He has had issues with other people before, but never Vanessa. I know when he is under her care, he’s not only getting fed and cleaned up after, he’s also being loved and cared for. Schedule
I work from home, so have plenty of time to cater to your cat's preferred feeding time before work, during my lunch, or after work. If you're looking for overnight stays, I can simply bring my laptop to your house and stay by your cat's side.
- CatsVanessa can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
- I always like to ask in advance where you keep your cat carriers and who your vet is just in case there's an emergency. One hasn't happened yet while I was petsitting, but I like to be prepared.
