I live in a small flat with a terrace, but it’s pet-friendly. I have a 16-year-old cat with kidney problems. I only look after dogs at my home – dogs that are cat-friendly and do not suffer from separation anxiety.

Information Vane d. would like to know about your pet
I do not offer overnight stays with dogs at dogs owner's home, although I have taken dogs for walks and occasionally looked after some dogs at my own home. I only accept dogs that are calm and friendly towards cats, and that do not suffer from separation anxiety or are used to staying in a safe place in the house, such as a pet carrier or cage. I do not offer overnight stays at cat owners’ homes, but I do visit to feed, play with and look after them in their own home. Travel costs outside Alkmaar are charged separately.
A typical day
I often play scent games with dogs and cats. I also organise physical stimulation activities and walks in the countryside to help them feel calm and secure.

I'm a nutrionist in natural diets and practice holistic therapies for animals, and I'm a professional cat & dog sitter as well. I have always been accompanied by both cats and dogs in my life and currently have a lovely 16 years old cat. 👩🏼🏫I have more than 10 years of experience in animal care and treatment, animal comunication, behaviour, and holistic therapies, as well as with animal welfare associations (refuges), including more than 5 years in Spain and in The Netherlands. 🧐I'm able to identify behavioural problems in dogs and cats, interpret their body language, detect any other issues they may have, and deal with emergency situations. Our frenchie Charlie stayed a day over at Vane D. We are very satisfied how she approached this. We had a meet and greet the day before. I would certainly recommend her, if necessary I hope she's available next time!
Vanessa was wonderful with my cat Sonia, she looked after her for 2,5 weeks and did a great job. She was always very quick with communication, found her way with Sonia easily (Sonia is not so easy on communication with people she doesn't know), send us pictures and videos regularly for reassurance, that all is going well. It took Vanesa just 2 days to win the trust of my two shy and timid cats. She sent photos and videos every day and I came home to find two relaxed cats. Communication before, during and after the booking went very well; she is quick to respond.
We were so happy for Vanessa to take care of our cats. She really bonded with them and took time to play with them. We loved the pictures and videos she send us during our holiday. It’s good to know who we can ask for a next time 😉
