Loving Auntie Type w/ 40 Yrs Exp

Hello! I’m Vancie. I’ve returned to Rover after a long term private gig. With over 40 years of personal and professional animal care experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with all kinds of beloved companions — from the pets of UHNW families and international celebrities to the cherished animals of everyday households. I understand that every home has its own rhythm, energy, and routine. And even with the best schedules in place, life can change in a moment. You need someone dependable, adaptable, and calm under pressure — someone you can truly count on. That’s where I come in. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside a notable celebrity dog trainer, gaining practical confidence and hands-on experience handling a wide variety of situations through essential behavioral understanding and training techniques. From one baby to many, I’ve learned that walks, adventures, exercise, and enrichment are wonderful for everyone involved. Personally, I like to call them our “smelling adventures.” Dogs, cats, horses, birds, tortoises, pigs, and more — I’ve had the joy of caring for animals of all shapes, sizes, temperaments, and needs. Through this extensive background, I’ve developed a strong understanding of safety, attentiveness, and individualized care, and I welcome challenges with confidence and compassion. With me, you can have peace of mind knowing your baby(ies) will be loved, respected, and cared for as though they were my own. My practical experience and hands-on approach allow me to tailor care to each animal’s unique personality, comfort level, and needs. No two babies are alike, and I pride myself on noticing what helps each one feel happiest, safest, and most themselves. Special needs babies are wholeheartedly welcome. For many years, I rescued senior dogs from euthanasia lists, giving them soft landings, loving homes, and dignified care through their final chapters. This experience strengthened my ability to provide medication administration, special bathing, physical therapy support, mobility assistance, and personalized care for animals requiring extra patience and attention. Think of me as your reliable “Auntie” — ready and able to adjust care thoughtfully to your baby’s individual needs. Whether it’s walks, day trips, overnight stays, or simply quality companionship, sharing time with animals genuinely brings me joy. I adore all babies — big and small, young and old — and I’m always ready for new adventures and heartfelt care. While I do not typically offer boarding or in-home services from my own residence, I am open to discussing exceptions for bonded, repeat clients on a case-by-case basis. Safety always comes first. Before our journey begins, I like to arrange a meet-and-greet with you and your baby(ies). It’s a wonderful opportunity to share some love, playtime, and ensure we’re a comfortable fit for one another. Creating familiarity beforehand helps ease unnecessary anxiety and sets everyone up for a positive, safe, and happy experience. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions — I’m always happy to help. I look forward to sharing my experience, warmth, reliability, and genuine love of animals with you and yours. Cheers, Vancie

Vancie stayed at our house and watched our dog Tootsie for 4 days. She did a wonderful job and provided us with frequent updates, pictures and videos of Tootsie. Tootsie is a very shy dog but Vancie was determined to make friends with her and her determination paid off. When we returned from our trip, Tootsie was happy to see us but it appeared she'd grown attached to Vancie in just a short time since seemed to be looking around for her. When we travel again, we'll definitely reach out to Vancie.

Vancie is amazing! This was our first time using rover and she made it extremely easy and we felt confident and secure with her. Our beagle loved her and she clearly loves dogs! Our dog had a nice special vacation having her dog sit. She takes lots of pictures and videos so you know how your dog is doing and gives plenty of updates. She is great and we highly reccomend her

Vancie went above and beyond when she watched my two fur babies. She updated me with multiple pictures daily. If I asked her to do something for the dogs like cook their chicken she always did it without hesitation. One of my dogs has chronic skin issues and she had so many suggestions to help me with that. She is an extremely knowledgeable and and experienced pet sitter. I fully trust my dogs being watched by her. Vancie cares so much about each dog she sits. We are so thankful to have found her and we will continue to use her in the future!

Vancie's caring heart is seen every time she flashes that warm smile your way. She has not only cared for my dog, but she has loved my dog. Daphne always can't wait to get to her each time she first sees Vancie coming. With a true appreciation for animals and their vulnerability, Vancie has always shown a patient tolerance with dogs that have suffered trauma and their needs. I would highly recommend Vancie for any pet care need.
