I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I maintain a consistent quiet lifestyle that can incorporate pets’ own routines to put them at ease and accommodate clients' needs. My services vary by travel distance: I can drop-in to visit pet(s) during the day for clients in Vancouver, northern Richmond, and western Burnaby. I can travel to provide pet-sitting/house-sitting services overnight or for several consecutive days throughout Metro Vancouver's municipalities.

Please provide details about pets's temperaments and visitor experiences, especially if there are multiple animals in the home. I can provide care for cats and dogs with special considerations, given advance notice and a planning call with clients. I have personal experience and am a quick learner for specific diets, medications, exercises, training, or other needs your pet may have. I cannot accept dog clients that require extensive exercise or long walks, unfortunately.
A typical day
I keep cats active and entertained with games and toys, comfortable with their feeding and cleaning routines, and content with cuddles and companionship. I accept indoor and outdoor cats, pending the specific situation. Dogs love my sunny attitude, attentive care, and endless patience for play and training. I can provide regular potty breaks, short walks, indoor and outdoor play in a fenced-in area (fetch? tug? wrestle? I'm in), and as many pets and hugs as the dog requests.

Pet care experience
I have taken care of pets, my own and others’, since my teen years. There’s a special place in my heart for senior animals, big dogs, and feisty cats. I completed safety training for handling stressed animals during a brief stint volunteering with the BCSPCA. I can care for cats and dogs with specialty diets and senior needs, as well as administer medications and special care as necessary.

Valerie is a true pet-lover! She house-sat for us and took care of our two cats while we were on vacation, and they had a great time together. Valerie followed all of our instructions, was a great communicator, and took loving care of Masala and Chai while we were gone. Val absolutely adores pets. She’s kind, bubbly and fun and full of love for our dog. She’s also respectful of our house when watching the dog. She has watched our dog on multiple occasions when we were out of town for a weekend or longer, including early morning or late nights. Val is the kind of person you want to be looking after your adored pet, and we’ll continue calling her next time we need a dog sitter!
