While I do travel occasionally, my trips are planned well in advance and I keep my calendar updated. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and getting to know their personalities. Whether your dog loves long walks and outdoor time or your cat prefers quiet companionship and routine, I adapt to what makes them happiest and most comfortable. I’m active and enjoy walking, so I’m very comfortable handling longer walks and higher-energy dogs when needed.

Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and parakeets, and my mom bred and showed dogs, so I learned early how important patience, consistency, and attentive care are for every pet’s personality and needs. As an adult, I’ve primarily cared for cats and currently have a diabetic cat of my own. I’m very experienced with glucose testing and monitoring, administering insulin injections, recognizing and managing hypoglycemic events, and giving calm, compassionate care to pets with medical needs. Friends and family have trusted me to care for their pets because I’m dependable, observant, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or requires extra attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.

Valerie is truly the best pet sitter I could have asked for. She took amazing care of my two cats and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated, which meant a lot to me. What impressed me most was that my shy cat, Salem, actually came out and spent time with her, and he usually hides from everyone except us. That alone says so much about how gentle, patient, and trustworthy she is with animals. Valerie is a wonderful pet sitter and dog walker! She followed all feeding, care, and grooming instructions with our maine coon Bear, and had some extra playtime with our two pit-mixes, Happy and Lotus, while taking them for walks during the day.
