I am an experienced pet caregiver based near the Smith Mountain Lake area. I have hands-on experience caring for a variety of dogs, including large breeds, and am comfortable administering oral medications, providing bathing and basic grooming care, and handling dogs with different temperaments and needs. My experience comes from both personal and professional care. I have cared for my own dogs, as well as my parents’ and sister’s dogs, giving me regular, real-world experience with daily routines, exercise, feeding schedules, and overall pet wellbeing. Professionally, I have worked at a dog kennel where I was responsible for feeding, bathing, and supervising dogs in group play settings while ensuring safety and appropriate behavior. I also worked as a bather at a pet store, where I gained experience handling dogs during grooming-related services and maintaining their comfort throughout the process. I take pride in providing reliable, attentive care and treating every pet as if they were my own.

Valerie was an excellent communicator and my babies felt so comfortable with her! She went above and beyond to take care of them and was flexible with any changes I needed to make. I would highly recommend her. We have FOUR dogs… one that is much older than the rest, one much smaller than the rest, one much larger than the rest, and one more needy than the rest. She handled them all perfectly!
Punctual and caring.
Valerie was super patient with our shy dog, Poppy. He was a little mouthy and even so she did such a great job with clipping his nails. We even had to hold him down, but Valerie was so patient.
Valerie was amazing with my dog and cat. Sent updates twice a day. It was the first time that i truly felt comfortable leaving my babies with someone.
Valerie was awesome, and very attentive to our fur babies. She went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of, and that we were aware of anything concerning that came up!
Valerie is so great with our dogs. We know our pups are in good hands with her and will always recommend!
