*Retiree*Lots of Time*Fenced Yard*

Thank You for finding my profile! I’m cautious but remaining open during COVID to help those that need it. I will adjust rates based on situation. We are on Cary/Raleigh border near SAS, quick easy access to airport and 40, ,newly retired (retired young!) , have a well-loved pet friendly house, a fenced in yard, and love both dogs and cats. We are available for boarding, doggie daycare, and in-home visits to let out your dog or care for your cat or caged animal. I absolutely love little rodents too. Our daughters always had them! We have always owned indoor cats too - they all lived spoiled long happy lives! So cat care is familiar to us as well. I was a nanny for 25 years here in this house -I have amazing references!!! And am a caregiver by nature. We have a 5 year old 48 pound shepherd, mixed-breed female dog , Lily Mae. We have a large, safe , flat, shady, fenced in yard. We use no chemicals on the lawn. House is protected by CPI. We have lots of time for loving dogs in our home and for loving and looking after your pets in your home. I have a GREAT base of regulars here for both boarding and doggie daycare. I try to keep it at 1 or 2 dogs in addition to my own. . We are here to love and care for your dog and won’t rush through our meet and greet - we try and gather as much info as we can for your pup and spend the time that you need. I encourage trial daycare or trial overnights and try and schedule those when you need me and also when regular dog might be here to meet. It’s all about safety and comfort and fun! Note: if pick up time is later than drop off time for boarding , I’d charge a day of doggie daycare in addition to the boarding fee. I also usually reduce my Rover fees after the initial visit - the initial visit is a time where your pet and I get to know one another and that requires more of my time than subsequent visits. Also, I truly don't keep the STRICT cancellation policy once we establish a relationship - I understand things change. I just like to establish trust and rapport with the client and not turn away my regulars to accommodate someone that is going to cancel on me last minute. I'm very accommodating on pick up times and drop off times and I can transport your pet (pick up or drop off your pet) should that need arise. I’d love to hear from you- each need is so very different so it’s best for us to talk it over, have a (REQURIED) meet and greet. We want nothing but the very best for your pet. We want them to want to come back!! The gang that rotate through here all get along so well. I screen my clients carefully for good matches and great care for your pet. I have a questionnaire/chart I keep on each pet and I send pictures and updates to you (probably too) often unless you specify otherwise ! Take a look at my photo gallery! Hope to hear from you. I do always encourage a chit chat on the phone before a meet and greet for safety and for more probability that it would be a good match. I have to be very selective as to which dogs I watch in order to keep this a happy / stress free place for your pup. Openness and Honesty are my forte - it's a wonderful base for a sitter/client relationship. I have a camera in the house should I leave the house I monitor the pups - it tells me if they're resting and comfy.

Riley loved his stay with Valerie it was a playful time where he was able to make new friends. We are very happy with the service Valerie provided it was really beyond. He had a great time and it’s a nice break from him having to spend time in large kennels when we go away.

Gabby had the best visit with Valerie and Lily Mae!! Valerie is so sweet and sent us tons of pictures and videos so that we knew how great of a time she was ah I got while we were traveling. Gabby loves playing with Lily and the other dogs there and I could tell immediately she felt right at home there! We will be taking Gab back there again next weekend!

Our family, especially our 6-month-old Bandit, cannot rave enough about what I affectionately refer to as Camp Lily Mae. Before our trip Valerie took time to get to know our puppy and make sure Bandit would be comfortable in her home and with her dog Lily Mae who is a sweetheart and even visits patients at UNC REX Hospital. Valerie sent multiple pictures to let us know how happy and content our puppy was. He enjoyed the large fenced in backyard and playing with the other dogs in her care. This was a great opportunity for him to socialize and learn how to be a dog. Bandit had such a great time; we were afraid he would not want to come home with us. We had no worries while we were away knowing Bandit was receiving such excellent care. Valerie loved our four-legged child like her own. I highly recommend Valerie for dog sitting and we are already making plans to use her services again.

Valerie's been my neighbor and friend for 20 years. She made us feel welcome the moment we moved into the neighborhood. In time she started to do childcare and I saw many wonderful kids grow strong and happy in her care. She always admired our dogs. Valerie got Lily Mae and is a great dog mom, training, loving and caring for Lill Mae. I know that your dog will be safe and happy in her care.

A typical day

Neighborhood is great for walking. Our sunroom has 12 windows great for squirrel watching. Large fenced yard. Lots of company all day as we are retired. Plenty of toys! Lily Mae is gentle with her toys so you can bring your dogs favorites as well. My dog loves to play but we also have baby gates to keep dogs separated and allow them to rest.

I’d need the name and contact information for your vet and two additional emergency phone numbers in addition to ways to contact you. I would like to know the dog’s temperament, fears, likes and dislikes. Dog must be up to date on all shots. And dog must be on flea and tick preventative. Please let me know habits such as jumping fences, being an escape artist , etc. and as much as you can about dogs temperament and habits. I want to keep your dog safe and happy. I would like to know what your dog enjoys? Fetch? What kinds of toys he/she likes. Is your dog allowed on your furniture ? What training points are you currently working with on your dog? Does your dog chew things ( my daughters dog chews remotes!) My dog tends to like to entertain young dogs and puppies. She’s like a momma.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
