As a retired pet lover, I have the time and flexibility to fully dedicate myself to pet sitting. My open schedule allows me to accommodate a wide range of needs, whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or last-minute drop-ins. I’m available Monday through Sunday unless otherwise noted, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s specific routine to ensure they feel comfortable and cared for. With no competing work obligations, your pet receives my full attention and care whenever they need it.

Safety, trust & environment
When it comes to pet sitting, safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities. I primarily care for pets in their own homes, where they feel most secure and relaxed in a familiar environment. This helps reduce stress and allows me to maintain their usual routines with care and consistency. While I am open to boarding on a case-by-case basis, I live in a pet-free condo and prefer to sit in clients’ homes to provide the most personalized experience. Being pet-free myself means your furry friend receives my full attention. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and happy to accommodate any special instructions or needs to ensure both you and your pet feel confident and at ease.
Information Valerie B. would like to know about your pet
Before pet sitting, it’s crucial to gather comprehensive details about each pet to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being. Here are some key pieces of information I like to know ahead of time: • Medical Information: Health issues, allergies, medications (including dosages and schedules), and past medical history. Contact details for their veterinarian and any emergency protocols. • Feeding and Dietary Needs: I like to understand their feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any dietary restrictions or food allergies. • Behavior and Temperament: I like to know how each pet interacts with other animals, people, or specific environments. Information on aggression triggers, shyness, or anxiety can help tailor my approach. • Daily Routine and Exercise: I like to know their daily schedule, including playtime, walks, and rest periods, as well as any specific exercise requirements. • Household Rules and Environment: I like to know details on areas of the home that are off-limits, pet-specific zones, and any routines or rituals that help keep them relaxed. • Special Considerations: I like to discuss any unique needs such as socialization requirements, training cues, or if the pet has a history of separation anxiety. Having these details up front ensures that I can provide consistent, personalized care that respects each pet’s individual needs while offering peace of mind to my clients
A typical day
My day usually begins with a cheerful greeting and a few minutes of cuddles as I meet the pets for the day. I start by checking off their morning routines—ensuring they’re fed according to their individual schedules and that fresh water and clean spaces are provided. For our canine friends, this often means an early walk or some energetic playtime in a nearby park. Back at home, I set aside time for interactive games that keep them both mentally and physically engaged, all while keeping a close eye on any specific care instructions, such as separate feeding for pets with unique needs. Meanwhile, indoor companions like cats receive special attention through play sessions with their favorite toys and gentle interaction that respects their quiet nature. Throughout the day, I love to sprinkle in additional check-ins, play breaks, and calming cuddle times, ensuring each pet feels secure and cherished. By evening, after one last round of feeding and a peaceful walk or quiet play session, I wrap up the day with a final check to make sure the pets are relaxed and settled for the night—all while keeping open communication with their owners through regular updates and photos.

Loving Care When You're Not There
Pet care experience
Hi there, my name is Valerie! With over 30 years of hands-on pet care experience, I bring a deep understanding and genuine love for animals to every pet sitting job. I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by dogs and cats, and I’m well-versed in all aspects of their care—from walking and feeding to bathing and providing companionship. A year ago, I lost my beloved dog Titan, who passed away from old age after many wonderful years together. Since then, pet sitting has become a meaningful way for me to stay connected to animals and share the love and care I once gave to Titan. What sets me apart is not just my experience, but the heart I put into caring for every pet as if they were my own.

It’s the little things that make her so special! Valerie spent a week with our fur babies so that we could travel. We never worried for one minute because we knew our pets and home were in good hands. Thank you Valerie for all the little extras you did for our family ♥️

Outstanding. My trip to Miami took longer then expected and Valerie was able to stay and take care of my high energy GSP
