I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and boarding. I’m able to provide morning, midday, and evening care, including weekends. Because I spend most of my time at home caring for my own small dogs, I’m able to give visiting pets consistent attention, regular walks, and a calm, predictable routine.

Dogs can be separated into different areas of the home if necessary, and I am able to crate dogs safely if that is part of their normal routine. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and exercise needs. My goal is to provide a secure, low-stress environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

I have over 20 years of professional experience in animal care, including work in shelters, veterinary settings, daycare, grooming, and private pet sitting. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and small animals in a variety of environments and understand how to keep pets safe, calm, and comfortable. My background includes administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness, conducting behavior assessments, supporting adoptions, and working closely with veterinarians and animal welfare teams. I’ve also provided private dog walking and in-home pet sitting since 2015. In my home, dogs receive attentive, calm care in a safe environment. I’m especially experienced with small, senior, and sensitive dogs, and I’m comfortable administering medications and helping nervous or shy pets feel secure. For dogs who enjoy it, I love taking them on long walks and nature hikes to provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. As a long-time dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I provide thoughtful, individualized care, clear communication, and regular updates so you can feel confident while you’re away.

Before booking, I had a lot of questions and Valerie was so patient and responsive with all of them. She even took the time to do a meet and greet before the actual stay, which made me feel even more comfortable leaving April in her care. During the stay, she took such great care of her and kept me completely at ease while I was away. She sent regular updates and pictures, and it was obvious my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for in her home. I really appreciated the extra thoughtfulness of her washing my dog’s blankets before pickup — that meant a lot. You can truly tell Valerie genuinely cares for the pets she watches. Valerie has been an incredible help to me and my animals. During a time when I wasn't physically able to walk my dog due to health issues Valerie stepped in and walked him daily without fail.
