About Baldrick

My mastiffs just like to be rubbed and talked to. Baldrick likes to play tug-of-war with big bones or an empty plastic water bottle (I've tried toys, but empty water bottles are his favorite). In typical mastiff behavior - he prefers human company to anything else.

  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
He has only been around a couple of dogs, but every time has gone very well - especially with pugs!
  • Gets along with cats: No

Special Requirements

They are big barkers. I suggest always greeting them with treats - it will calm them down right away (at least until they get to know you). Monitor if giving special treats like bones. He can get greedy and take what belongs to Lefty or Peaches... this has lead to a fight in the past. In the rare event one of them gets out - motion towards the car and open the car door saying in a happy voice, "Wanna go for a ride? Let's go for a ride!"

About Lefty (aka "Moose")

Big drooler. You might want to keep a towel handy! Lefty just loves to be rubbed and loved. He'll jump and roll around - but not big on toys.

About Peaches (aka "Peachy")

She loves to be rubbed and hugged. She'll eat crackers, lettuce, cantaloupe - and meat! Doesn't know what to do with toys, and will often chew on bones after they've been gnawed on by her brothers first (but she likes the jerky that falls off them). She does do a game where you use your hands to push around a bone on the floor and she tries to steal it from you.
