I work full time on the property where the dogs stay, so I’m present and actively involved in their care throughout the day. Because I’m on site, I’m able to supervise playtime, outdoor time, and introductions between dogs carefully. Overnight stays fit naturally into the routine here, which means dogs receive consistent attention and supervision around the clock.

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs are treated like family here. They’ll get plenty of affection, belly rubs, and attention, but I also believe dogs feel most secure when there are clear boundaries and structure. When a new dog arrives, I give them time to settle in at their own pace. They can explore the house, sniff around the property, and get comfortable with the environment before meeting my dogs. Introductions are done slowly and thoughtfully based on each dog’s temperament so everyone feels safe. Instead of walking along busy streets, we spend most of our time right here on the 5-acre property. There is a large 60 ft x 100 ft fenced area for active dogs, or for dogs who simply enjoy being outdoors. Dogs have plenty of opportunities to go outside, explore, roam the fenced area, and take in all the sights and smells of nature. It’s a calm, spacious environment where dogs can relax, play, and enjoy themselves.

One of my dogs can be nervous around large dogs, so I’m only able to accept bigger dogs that are well-socialized and non-aggressive. Thanks for understanding. It’s important to me that the environment here stays calm and safe for everyone.
A typical day
A typical day here is simple and centered around the dogs. Mornings usually start with outdoor time and a walk around the property. After that, dogs have time to run in the field, explore the woods, or just relax nearby while we go about the day. Because the property is large and quiet, dogs have lots of opportunities to burn energy in a natural way. We’ll play fetch, tug-of-war, or other games depending on what each dog enjoys. Some dogs love constant activity, while others prefer to watch, sniff, and take things slow. I pay attention to each dog’s personality and adjust the day to fit them. I keep the environment flexible so dogs can play, socialize, or take quiet breaks when they need them. Some dogs love interacting with others, while some prefer their own space, and that’s perfectly fine.

Pet care experience
Hi, I live and work on a 5-acre property in south Maplewood, near the Battle Creek area, where I share my days with my two dogs, Nessel and Luna. Canine visitors here have plenty of space to relax indoors, with separate rooms available if needed, run outside in the fenced field, play in the heated barn, and explore open fields and wooded trails with plenty of wildlife, sights, and smells for curious noses. For active dogs, I also have a 60 ft x 100 ft fenced area where they can safely roam and play. I genuinely enjoy caring for, handling, and playing with dogs, and I’m attentive to each dog’s temperament, comfort level, and needs. We take daily walks around the property, and I work to provide the right balance of exercise, structure, patience, and affection. I have experience caring for a wide range of breeds and sizes. Dogs aren’t just pets here—they’re family—and I treat them that way every day. If you’re looking for a safe, spacious, and loving environment where your dog will receive attention, exercise, and thoughtful care, I’d love to welcome them to stay and play with us at Nessel & Luna’s farm. Your dog will be cared for as if they were my own. 🐾 🐾
Reviews
Valeng was awesome with our dog. Will be using him again. Our dog was ative and happy. He has a great setup with lots of space. Valeng is very kind and clearly loves dogs. Highly recommend.
Hey y'all, this guy right here is absolutely one of the best dog sitters on Rover. What I handed him was a 9-month-old puppy of a friend, who didn't have any proper training, wasn't responding to his name, wasn't potty trained at all, and had serious separation anxieties. I was so worried that Robby was gonna cause Valeng and his family too much trouble. And a month later, I got back a puppy that knows his name, is potty trained, with way more balanced energy. The puppy is both physically and mentally healthier in Valeng's care. If you book Valeng for your beloved puppers, expect a house full of nice people generous with their love, a nice and spacious yard, and dog park visits. I simply could not think of what anyone could do to be a better sitter. I'm truly grateful of Valeng's work. Be aware though, his family might become too attached to your puppy that you will have to build a long-term relationship with them! XD

It was Drizzy’s first time boarding with Rover and it went wonderfully! Valeng kept me updated and was genuinely airing towards Drizzy. We will be rebooking!
Valeng was great! Barker had a great time, and slept from when I got home until I woke up for work the next day. He had a blast playing with his dogs and did not want to leave. I would definitely recommend Valeng to anyone looking for a dog sitter and am so happy I found him. Will definitely be using him again in the future when I need a sitter.
