Safety, trust & environment

I work from home 3 out of the 5 days so the dogs get plenty of socialization and outdoor time during the day. We have a large backyard and leads for dogs to explore. We live on a dead end block with little to no traffic and enjoy neighborhood walks. We offer food twice a day - morning and night. For safety, we do not leave food out for grazing, but they will have more opportunity to eat if they do seem interested at that time.

Home

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
Children 0-5 years old
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Information Trisha G. would like to know about your pet

We have two small children. Plenty of dogs are not fond of children (ours sure isn't). Just please let me know if this is the case. Small dogs tend to keep their distance from children, but any mid size or larger dos that does not like kids, we need to know about.

A typical day

*Check out time: We ask that you have a reasonable pick up time either in the AM or early afternoon. Daily Schedule: We work full time from home 3 days a week from 8AM to 4:00pm. As opposed to the traditional kennel experience, your dog will have a stress free vacation of their own with similar routines, atmosphere and a friend to play with. No crates, cages, or anxiety. They have full access to a large half fenced in back yard. We use leads to roam safely and can provide extra harnesses if you do not already have one. During their vacation, they can sleep wherever their heart desires - except outside :) or unless otherwise noted by the owner: e.g.- if you have a no sofa rule, we will honor that. Feel free to bring along his/her bed. We only watch one dog at a time, unless we have an overlap booking. If this is a concern, please be sure to bring this up prior to booking. I will notify you whether additional dogs have already been booked during the time of your stay request. We will never have more than TWO dogs at a time, not including our own.

Pet care experience

** Please read after the bio for important stay information which should answer most of your questions! ** Hi fellow parent! Thank you for taking a look at our page. Myself, my husband, Dan, and dog, Stout are excited to bring our successful sitting business to Maine! We offer weekend dog day care and 7 day a week overnight boarding. We do not offer daycare during the weekday (separate of weekday boarding). Dan and I graduated from Stonehill College and attended graduate schools at Northeastern and Suffolk University. I currently work for Boston University and Dan works at Maine Medical Center Why Rover? I am very aware of the hardships of finding someone to look after a pet. I wish that there were more options for families besides kennels, which can feel impersonal and cause anxiety for a lot of dogs. In addition, it is pricey for a family, and you don't always get what you pay for. Meanwhile, there are friendly neighbors who would be more than happy to have a your buddy hang out with them for the weekend! I think Rover offers so many opportunities to meet and bond with people in your community, build trust, and offer more options for people weary of the traditional kennel. Beyond the actual care, at Rover we try and relieve most of the stress of finding dog care by being transparent with prices and schedules. I love being a part of this. Being able to hand pick who will care for your dog is an important feature that is not considered in the traditional sense of a kennel.

Trisha and her family were an absolute blessing to our dog Sophie while we were on vacation. We received pictures and updates daily and even learned a few new things to buy for home!

Trisha was warm and welcoming from the start. It’s clear how much she loves doggies, and based on photos and feedback (thank you!) her family does as well. Daphne was clearly included in family activities indoors and out, Best experience I could want for my girl. Will hope to rebook any time I need a sitter for Daphne, in the future.
