Trish's Naperville Dog Boarding

I started out caring for dogs to help a friend of mine who has her own dog care business. I mainly offered dog boarding, but I am expanding to now offer dog waks and pet visits since I have more flexibility in my schedule. I have had quite a few dogs stay in my home over the last 15 years. All have been good experiences. Whether its dog boarding or pet visits, I like to first do a meet 'n greet with the owner and their dog(s). It's about having a good fit. I currently have a male beagle of my own (born 3/18/19) who is very sweet and plays well with other dogs. I also have a sweet young female beagle, who loves everyone and everything. I do overnight care at my home, as long as the "fit" is right, which is why the meet 'n greet is so important. I work full-time remotely (from home) but I am transitioning to part-time hours (continuing to be remote). My normal routine is up each weekday morning around 7am, dogs are fed and walked. I start my workday around 8am and attend to the dogs as needed. Weekends, I am generally home or running errands and not gone for more than 4 hours at a time, usually less, so the potty breaks are not too far apart. There is plenty of socialization time (treat puzzles, snuggles, etc). My dogs have enjoyed sleeping in the same bed with me, but I have crates of different sizes to use as needed. Your dog is welcome to sleep in my bed, on the floor near me or where ever they are most comfortable. I have a 2 story townhome, so no fenced in yard, but with 2 - 3 dog walks/day, and several other brief outings, our canine guests don't seem to mind. I also have portable fence panels and (weather-permitting) I can set up a small yard area for daily playtime outside. Regarding my posted rate per dog of $50/over-night: I offer a discount for the 2nd dog of 50%, so for 2 dogs, the over-night rate is $75 (not $100). Please keep in mind that there is a 2-hour grace window for drop-off versus pick-up time after boarding, so if drop-off is 7am, pick-up would need to be by 9am on the day of pick-up, otherwise there would be an additional charge (50% of nightly rate if 2+ to 8 hours over, and 100% if more than 8 hours over). I am unable to house more than 2 dogs as guests. I also only accept one client's dogs at a time, so your pets will get plenty of attention and cuddles.

My dog absolutely loved her time with Trish. I got many updates and pictures. I knew without a doubt my dog was being loved and taken care of while I was away. She was very flexible and understanding when we had a change of plans that delayed our return home by a few hours as well. I highly recommend her. My dog can’t wait to have a play date with her pups someday soon!

Trish is an amazing, experienced sitter who is kind and reliable. Our mini golden doodle 'Lara' loves her stay with Trish and also gets to party with Clover and Gilly (her pet buddies). Lara has been going to Trish since she was a puppy (7 months old). Trish shares/communicates with fun pictures and videos, which we long to see when we are on a vacation. We will be out on a vacation again and I will ask Trish to take care of Lara :)

Safety, trust & environment

I feed and care for your dogs as though they were my own - I love my pets and they are treated with great care. I am concerned about their safety and use sound judgment in my decision-making to protect them. I would do the same for your pets.

Pets

A typical day

We go a variety of places for walks, sometimes just around the neighborhood and there is a retention pond with a nice walking path around it nearby, sometimes we jump in the car and run to the pet store and go for a walk near the store ...there are also fields and walking paths along the way that we sometimes frequent. I have a friend with a large fenced yard that we can also visit for playtimes. We try to mix it up a little.

Mainly, I like to know if they have any separation anxiety such as excessive barking. Since I share walls with two other townhomes, that is a factor I need to consider. Other than that, I just like to know about the personality, how they interact with other dogs, any special needs, etc.
