I work with TJ at our local animal shelter, the Benton Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, WA. I trained him when he was hired and have worked closely with him ever since. He is extremely hard working and committed to giving the animals the best possible experience during their stay at the shelter. All staff members at BFHS go through an online orientation called “Fear Free Training” which teaches us how to safely interact with animals while creating the least stressful environment possible for them. TJ has done an incredible job at executing these practices. He always makes the dogs feel safe and happy, his body language and tone of voice is comforting to them and he is able to gain their trust very quickly. He is very passionate about taking care of our dogs and I frequently see him running, playing and snuggling them, it’s clear that they enjoy being around him. I would recommend and trust him to work with any dog and I hope he gets the opportunity to work with Rover as well.
