Pet care experience

Cat Lady, Dog Approved

I’ve been an animal person for as long as I can remember. My life has always included pets, and over the years I’ve shared my home with cats, dogs, lizards, snakes, and even a hedgehog. While I truly love all animals, everyone who knows me will tell you that cats have my whole heart. I’m the person who asks if I can pet your dog (unless they’re working, of course), says hello to every neighborhood cat, and carries treats in my car just in case I meet a friendly pup on a walk. If I find a stray cat that needs help, you’ll probably find me feeding it, trying to earn its trust, and quite possibly wondering if my house has room for one more. (A few of my own cats have joined the family exactly that way.) Over the years I’ve pet sat for friends, family, and neighbors, and it’s never felt like a job, it’s something I genuinely love doing. I even studied animal medicine for a time, which gave me a deeper appreciation for animal health and behavior. Combined with a lifetime of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages and medical needs, I know how important it is to be patient, observant, and dependable. Today, my home is ruled by my two wonderfully spoiled cats, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also have two animal-loving daughters who have grown up surrounded by pets and are learning the same respect and compassion for animals that I’ve always had. (They only help when you give permission, of course!) Whether your pet is energetic, anxious, shy, mischievous, or just looking for someone to love them while you’re away, I’ll care for them like they’re one of my own. That’s the only way I know how.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities. I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved family member in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk or stopping by to check on your cat, I’m always paying attention to my surroundings and thinking about safety first. I make sure doors and gates are secure, leashes are properly fitted, fresh water is available, and your pet is happy, comfortable, and accounted for before I leave. I also carefully follow any routines or instructions you’ve provided because I know every pet is different. I treat every animal as if they were my own. With patience, kindness, and lots of love. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely at ease, so you can enjoy your time away knowing they’re in caring, dependable hands.

Tracy did an absolutely amazing job of caring for our sweet Poppy! Her daily reports of Poppy’s antics were so reassuring for us while we were away because we knew our kitty was in good hands. I would highly recommend Tracy for your cat sitting needs!

I called Tracy with very little notice for some emergency help with my dogs when I was going to be out of town. She was so generous to come and do a meet and greet—it was my first time leaving them solo. She was terrific to work with, sent such great updates with lots of pics and detail. It put me totally at ease and I’ve already recommended her to others. Thanks, Tracy! You were awesome!

Tracy was so nice and accommodating! She helped with our puppy for a last minute outing and took great care of him, even helping with another pet we didn’t expect her to! Truly a kind person and an animal lover. ❤️😊

Tracy was the best cat sitter for us while we lived in Utah! She was always reliable and flexible and understood our not always outgoing and friendly cat. We would highly recommend her and will miss her now that we’ve moved.

Schedule

Pet care isn’t something I have to squeeze into my schedule, it’s already part of my everyday life. I share my home with my two spoiled cats (who would probably tell you they’re the ones in charge), so feeding, litter boxes, playtime, and cuddle breaks are just part of my daily routine. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me. I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. On both workdays and days off, I schedule pet visits whenever I can throughout the day and evening so I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve instead of rushing in and out. Whether your cat wants someone to toss a toy mouse, sit quietly while they supervise from across the room, or provide a lap for an afternoon nap, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’ll make sure they have everything they need, and probably tell them how adorable they are a few dozen times while I’m there. To me, caring for pets isn’t a chore or a side gig. It’s something I genuinely love, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend my time with other people’s furry family members.

The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them! Every animal has their own little quirks, and I genuinely love getting to know what makes them them. Tell me all the important stuff. Especially if your pet is an escape artist (because I know some cats can magically fit through openings that defy the laws of physics). Let me know if there are any doors, gates, or sneaky habits I should keep an extra eye on. I’d also love to know about feeding schedules, medications, potty routines, favorite toys, treats (and whether they’re allowed), walking preferences, and any do’s and don’ts. Does your dog bark at skateboards? Does your cat only drink water from the bathroom sink? Is there a certain blanket they have to make biscuits on before bed? I want to know it all. The little details matter. My goal is to keep your pet’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible, so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. The more you tell me, the happier both of us, and your pet, will be.
