Pet care experience

Professional dog lover/snuggler :)

I've had a dog or dogs of my own for the past 17 years. Sadly, my 14.5 year old heart dog who was with me for 12.5 years (in the santa profile photo) recently passed away in April 2022 from a degenerative neurological disease. I miss him so much and am not yet ready to get a new dog, but I absolutely miss having dogs in my life and in the apartment so I think dog sitting and giving all my love and attention to your dog is a perfect compromise. I love all dogs, even the naughty ones and the ones who are currently "working on it" 😉 There is one foster cat in the home, and he absolutely loves dogs. My profile says 1 dog, that is incorrect there are no resident dogs. Sadly he's not with me anymore but I can't bring myself to delete his pet profile from when I used rover to find sitters for him 🥺 I have a big soft spot for senior pooches but love all ages. I have over 15 years of volunteer rescue experience (mostly with large and/or bully breeds many with behavioral/stress induced issues) so I'm comfortable taking dogs who exhibit behaviors like dog aggression, resource guarding, anxiety, separation anxiety, etc... I also welcome those who still haven't quite figured out house training, we can work on it during the stay. I am willing to accept dogs with human aggression issues, but we would need to have an in depth meet and greet before anything is booked. I am still remote wfh part time so I am literally home all day every day for plenty of playtime and potty breaks. No kids or other responsibilities that would take away from your pup. I am lucky enough to have a fully fenced private patio, and I put some astroturf down for my dog and id love it if another dog got to enjoy it. I'm also lucky enough to live close to Carl Schurz park meaning we can take walks in the park or head to the offleash run if your pooch is dog friendly! All surfaces of my home are pet friendly. I have dog beds, a couch, a bed, etc, and your doodle is free to lounge and snooze on all of them. I am also open to watching your pet in your home if you prefer as long as you live within a reasonable distance.

Tracy is the absolute best. She took care of Tank who is a very anxious dog and he can be a bully sometimes. But Tracy was the dog whisperer and he was very sweet to her. 5/5 stars

Tracy saved us when we were out of the country on a holiday and Frank needed daycare unexpectedly. She was flexible, communicative, and Frank had such a fun time with her!

A typical day

We can sun ourselves on the patio, go for walks around the UES, hit Carl Schurz park, or chillax in the ac hot days. I checked no for exercise for high energy dogs. Here's what that means. We can walk all day sure, but I am not the sitter who will take your dog on 5 mile runs every day. A lazy 2 mile walk? Sure...let's just keep expectations realistic! ?

Tracy can host up to 20 pets per night
The basics...any allergies, special needs, medical conditions, and of course I need to know if your dog is friendly with other dogs and cats. I can host dogs that don't do well with other dogs (lots of experience with this as I've long been active in the rescue world) but at this time Im sorry to say I cannot host dogs who are not cat friendly. I don't know dog cpr to be honest but I'll happily take a google/youtube course.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
