Pet care experience

Pets are people!

I've been pet sitting for 10+ years. I love getting to know new animals and building a positive experience for them. Providing in-home overnight care allows your pet to stay comfortably in their home environment and feel safe and secure at night. I do my best to make sure all dogs and cats in my care are well exercised and given the kind of attention they enjoy, whether they like hikes, parks, toys, or just hanging out. As far as training and behavior goes, I prefer to use positive reinforcement only, as I find it works best. I have experience working with problem behaviors, but if your dog is at the beginning stages of training out problem behaviors (0-6 months), I recommend leaving your dog with a sitter who is also a trainer by trade. Remote meet and greets are now available via Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Meet, and FaceTime. I’m flexible! I am available to keep up with routines for pets with work-from-home parents just as well as in-person workers. Structure is especially important for anxious dogs, so feel free to reach out to discuss schedule accommodations. *Non-SF Bay Area: I occasionally travel to visit family and like to leave myself available for work while traveling. I need to set my location in my destination city in order to receive booking requests, so I might not be in your location at time of request, but will be available to get to your location at least one day before, to allow time for a meet and greet prior to your departure. In these instances, we can hold a virtual meeting to make sure it is a fit beforehand. I always prioritize spending most of my time with pets, whether at home or traveling. I will usually take one outing of up to 4 hours every day or two while traveling, to have lunch with my family, etc. Please feel free to reach out to check my availability and rates in your location Meet and greets may be over Zoom or in person. Pet safety: I always keep pets on leash outdoors, unless in a fully enclosed space that they are already familiar with. I understand that this might disrupt your pet’s routine, and I apologize for any inconvenience. A change in environment can change the predictability of even the most well-trained dogs’ behavior, and safety is my foremost concern. Other than that, it’s all about having fun! Human safety: I'm fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including several booster shots) but remain cautious due to new variants and unvaccinated populations, due to having family members in high-risk categories for long-covid and other complications. For the time being, I will not be doing in-person meet and greets with unvaccinated households. I have my own vehicle. This may not always be the case when I’m traveling. For non-Bay Area bookings: If there is no vehicle on site, I recommend pet owners check the area for veterinary ambulance services, or arrange an emergency transportation contact, in case there are no available car or ride sharing options available nearby in the event of an emergency.

Safety, trust & environment

I do my best to maintain a safe environment by keeping all tempting chewable items off the ground, never walking dogs off-leash, and always crossing the street to avoid potentially overstimulating obstacles on walks.

Tony was great! He watched our cat while we were out of town. He sent regular updates and left our apartment spotless. We will definitely reach out to him again the next time we need a sitter.

Tony is amazing. From his thoughtful questions at our first meeting to leaving the house immaculate, Tony ticks all the boxes of an excellent pet sitter. Prior to our departure, our cat Paris was showing signs of anxiety. Not so when we got home! She was relaxed, playful, and cuddly. I will definitely ask Tony to pet-sit again (and hope he's free!).

Tony took care of our cat, Turtle, last minute for us. We booked him day of to stay at our apartment for the weekend and he was fantastic. Super communicative and gave Turtle his nightly pill like a pro. We will definitely be booking Tony for future sits!
