A vacation like experience
Pet care experience
I moved to Valdez AK summer of 2017 from Florida, I grew up on a farm so always had a love for animals. That summer I heard of an elderly woman needing someone to care for her pets while she went to a Drs appointment in the lower 48, so I volunteered my time for 5 days. When she returned I got a message from her overjoyed of how healthy and happy her pets were and how spotless her home was, she was relieved and was able to settle in without worry, The following week the calls began, word of mouth spreading like wild fire I became a guy in demand with 100% of my clients returning. I have experience with all sorts of pets (Cats and dogs) ranging from bit older to a few months, I have clients with medical conditions needing daily medication some with dietary needs. I have clients who have separation anxiety and some who don’t like other men or even children or other pets. I have clients who have ran away from every other pet sitter the owners have left them with and yet they stay glued to me like white on rice. Im able to form a bond with animals easily I can read and understand the mannerisms of animals easily and able to help them adjust and become comfortable and at ease. I give them a safe to feel at home! I don’t just open the door and say ok go potty or go outside for a bit, I take them on adventures and yes even the older ones get to go on a small adventure making them feel like a puppy again! I’ve been called the pet whisperer of Valdez by many. Your pet won’t need for anything under my care may it be dog walking or even pet day care or sitting for weeks at a time while ( and yes I board cats) or even some simple training or even a good ole grooming! My expertise is well versed when it comes to pets care/needs. Soo treat your pet to that vacation like experience don’t settle for less! I’m currently working on getting a few certifications and working on going to school for grooming.

We booked Tommy late as our regular pet sitter had an emergency! Thankfully he has availability to care for our 4 fur babies… one of which is a senior who requires extra attention. We’d heard he was a good sitter, but we didn’t realize what a gem he truly is! Our dogs LOVE him and look forward to him coming back! They got big love, lots of snacks, and my house was spotless when we returned! I’d highly recommend him… and Jake, FiFi, Taxi & Limo second that!!
My fiancé and I needed someone to stay at our house to watch over our elderly dog and cat last minute and we were so incredibly lucky that Tommy was available. He immediately put our minds at ease with his prompt and thorough communication. He gave us the choice to meet in person prior to our weekend away or he could just take a written description of the care needed. Because we were busy getting ready for our wedding weekend, the latter worked out perfectly. He sent us a few updates while he was caring for our fur babies assuring us that he was having a great time hangin with our old boys. It was so nice that we could relax and enjoy ourselves without worry. When we returned home, the house was spotless - it was more tidy and clean than when we left! Tommy had washed his own sheets from the guest bed and folded them too. Most importantly, both our dog and cat were calm and happy, like we had never left! Tommy also gave our dog a much needed bath which was such a nice surprise. I cannot recommend Tommy enough. He is thoughtful, passionate about animals and will make sure you have peace of mind while your animals are in his care. Thank you Tommy!
Tommy was the best! True to his reputation as the dog whisperer of Valdez. We will definitely call Tommy again when we are in town for fishing or taking family on the kayak or wildlife cruises. The dogs had their own day Valdez fun, too, instead of being locked up in a cage or car. Thank you Tommy!

My home is not only pet friendly it is a home, many of my clients owners see my house and ask are you sure? your home is nice. Well do you want your pet living like a king/queen or locked up in a cage while you go on vacation or what not! I live in town, very close to some amazing trails and pet friendly spots to go explore, the dog park is just a few blocks down the way! They will be able to take in the fresh Alaska air and feel free and not locked up.

Name, age and dog/cat breed. If your pet has any medical issues and requires medication. Dietary needs, how often do you feed your pet. (I make my own organic treats and dog friendly Ice cream I also like to cook meals for my clients ( brown rice, shredded chicken breast/ salmon, carrots, green beans, peas, broccoli, celery) if you aren’t comfortable with that I understand. It’s very important to know if you pey is ok being around other dogs/cats or have bitten another pet or human, it won’t hinder me caring for them. Are they comfortable around other people. Also, if you are currently training your pup, please let me know so I can continue that. Do you allow your pets on furniture at home, do you allow them In kitchen when you cook, I typically don’t mind them on my furniture and have a king size bed to plenty of room, in the kitchen when I’m cooking is another story. J
A typical day
Day care option 8 hours- pick up your pup in morning and we go on a small adventure, then I bring them to my place were we continue the fun either playing outside or just hanging out, give them lunch and then we go on a long adventure/hike after we return to my home for a little Power Nap, before dropping them off take them on another adventure and have them home before you’re home or even 30 min after giving you time to relax and decompress. Dog waking 1 hour- At anytime that’s convenient for you, I take your pup on an adventure. I have a few spots around Valdez that are safe/fun for your pup. I run them make sure they take care of business I always carry a backpack with few necessities like water, bowls, toys, extra leashes, treats, doggie bags, and first aid kit. Pet sitting 24hours- first thing wake up let them out for a few get breakfast going. Have a little morning stroll around to stretch them muscles before heading on out first adventure usually a few hours then back home to relax a bit after lots of pets and cuddles and play with toys. Then its time for a walk usually a fun trail or around town. Then back home dinner relax and head out for our last adventure of the day! Lots of Funtime lots of caring and always a good time!
