Ponty pack walk. Socialise and exercise!
Boxers, Huskies, Labradors, Collies and Terriers, friends and family, I’ve handled many dogs over the years and my best bud and I are regulars down at Ponty park. My dog came to us with a lot of behavioural problems and we’ve worked hard to get from hyper-reactivite to loose-lead walking to heel with great off-lead recall in high distraction environments. We’re working and learning every day! Pack walks are the best way to exercise dogs as it engages them mentally and lets them socialise without confrontation. I can walk your dog with or without mine but the benefits of having him with us would be significant! Taking care of dogs is my sole occupation and I’ve been self employed since 2022! While your dog is with me, they will be my sole focus and we will work on basic on lead behaviour like walking to heel, sitting to command and decreased reactivity. I’ve helped many clients in recent years. From German Shepherds to tiny terriers, aggressive Staffies and nervous doodles, I’ve spent many hours learning how to make progress with all but the most dangerous of dogs. Every one teaches me something new and helps me help the next. We have a very secure property. Escape is literally impossible due to 10 foot high stone walls. Although we do have limited yard space, we have access to a park across the road. We are 5 mins from Ponty park and, for muddy adventuring, Shony’s pond is just up the way. You’ll often find us at Barry Sidings too! All I do is look after dogs: walking, training, sitting. No other commitments, my dog is my best friend and I just want to give him the best life I can. Pets are with me for the duration of the booking. If I have to make exceptions it will be confirm with the client as soon as possible.

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs will have access to the ground floor of our home which is dog friendly. We have a small yard but prefer to be out and about when we can. I have regular dogs for day care through the week and pick up others for walks usually from 1100 to 1400, depending on the clients’ needs. Early and late walks can be booked also, especially in summer.

We have Tom saved under the dog whisperer on our phone! We have 2 rescue dogs who both have a whole heap of issues including not liking men, Tom overcome that issue with the dogs and has been working his magic ever since, the boys love him and they respond so well to his training, we enjoy our boys again after feeling overwhelmed by their behaviour at times. We now have weekly walks booked and even used Toms day care service both are real value for money. It’s not just a walk you get! Toms knowledge and professionalism is so invaluable. I could not recommend him enough. Every walk comes with video, photo and a written report on how the training is going, advice on what we can work on and just cute pics to put your mind at rest!
Tomas is absolutely great with my chocolate lab, Ziggy. We had a meet up before the 1st proper walk to make sure everyone got along OK. He responds to messages quickly and is always happy to help out with booking amendments. Will be using for regular walks and day care...can definitely recommend 🐕
We had an excellent experience with Tom, daily updates as requested and no stress at all regarding our puppy. We will definitely be booking in with him again.
Tom & Baxter were absolutely brilliant with our large, old bull terrier Les, who can be a real nuisance with unfamiliar dogs. Tom quickly integrated Les with Baxter and took care of Les & our house whilst we were away for a week. We had regular updates and complete peace of mind, our dog was happy and relaxed when we got back & had definitely had a great week! Can’t recommend Tom & Baxter highly enough, they’re fantastic!

Schedule
Full time dog carer, no other commitments. Ideally your dog will be friendly and mix well with the rest of the pack. If not, we can work on that but training will carry an additional fee.

- Any medical/dietary requirements and anything that may put your dog at risk. Behaviour towards dogs, cats, people and squirrels/birds so we can manage the walk to minimise risks.
