Caring Dog Owner & Walker
I've spent a number of years living with and caring for dogs in a home environment, developing practical day-to-day experience in understanding their needs, routines, and behaviour. This includes caring for my own dog, Pickles, a dachshund who can be very nervous and fearful outside, which has given me real experience in patience, building confidence, and working gently with anxious dogs. Alongside my practical experience, I have completed an Animal Behaviour and Welfare certificate through the University of Edinburgh, giving me a stronger understanding of animal behaviour, welfare needs, and the importance of adapting care to each individual dog. I have experience with dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, and I always adapt my approach to suit each individual dog. I believe in positive reinforcement and creating calm, enjoyable experiences that build trust and confidence. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic adventure or a relaxed stroll with plenty of sniffing opportunities, I'll ensure they receive the care, attention, and exercise they deserve.

**Safety, Trust & Environment** Your dog's safety, happiness, and wellbeing are always my top priorities. I believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, and positive experiences, and I tailor my care to each dog's individual needs and personality. I provide calm, structured walks and avoid overcrowded areas or situations that may cause stress. I use positive reinforcement and never use harsh handling or punishment. Fresh water, rest breaks, and plenty of attention are always provided, and I will keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your dog is enjoying their time with me. I take the time to understand your dog's routine, preferences, and any special requirements before our first walk. Whether your dog is energetic and adventurous or prefers a slower pace, I aim to create a safe, enriching environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. Building trust with both dogs and their owners is incredibly important to me, and I treat every dog as if they were my own.

Tom is an excellent carer for dogs, I’ve trusted him with my dogs many times and never been disappointed. He takes good care of them and always has some cheese for them.
Tom has been an incredible dog-dad for 3 years. He’s also often taking his loved one’s dogs for a walk too and has been incredible help in raising 2 puppies. He’s gentle with them, patient in training, and willing to take the time to get to know nervous dogs. When needed, he has dog-sat multiple dogs for extended periods of time. His love for animals is apparent and abundant.
