Pet care experience

Safe, fun, friendly! Come see us!

We live in a large 4 bedroom house situated on 2.35 acres. There are plenty of community parks and trails in the area for dog walking, in addition to our own spacious yard. We own 2 dogs, a golden retreiver named Molly, and a black Lab, Rufus. We've owned dogs since childhood, so we have a good understanding of various breeds and dog care. If you have special needs for your dog(s), just ask. We are very flexible! We accept most all breeds, with the exception of Pit Bulls. We are unable to accept Pits due to voiced customer concerns, their well documented reputation for aggression, and our own personal past experience of having 2 customers drop off aggressive dogs to stay in our home. We know your pit is an awesome dog, but we've chosen to remove that risk factor from our home. We hope you will understand, and not take it personally. What you need to provide: *** Dog Food - Bring whatever your dog usually eats, including any treats you would like them to have. We understand that not all dogs have an iron stomach, and may be sensitive to new foods. We will never feed your dogs food outside of what you have provided. ***Leashes/Harnesses - Please provide a leash and harness for each dog we will be watching. *** Emergency Contact Info - We will require at least one phone number from you to make contact in the event of an emergency. More than one number is preferable, just in case. *** Any medications your dog is taking. That's it! We take care of the rest. About this sitter: We are a mature, extremely reliable and happy family of dog lovers! My wife and I are in our 40's. Our 20 year old daughter that shares our love of animals and lives with us, as well as our 2 year old granddaughter. You can count on us to handle your dogs responsibly, and with love and respect! Why I love dog sitting I've owned dogs since early childhood and have always loved their fun loving personalities! Personally, I've owned Cocker Spaniels, Collies, a French Briard, several mixed breed dogs, an Akita, Beagle, Basset Hound, and currently our Golden Retreiver and Black Lab. About my yard We have a large yard, partially fenced. We are on 2.35 acres. A section of the yard is securely fenced and attached to the house. The fenced dog run is where they can go potty, and maybe hang out a little on nice days while I work in the yard nearby. There is a doghouse available for lounging on rainy days. We have 1/3 mile+ of trails on the wooded portion of the property, as well as large, open grassy areas. Dogs are always on leash in the unfenced areas of the property. For the most part, dogs remain indoors with us, but they also get plenty of outside time. My experience administering medication We are very comfortable with administering medications as needed. Just let us know what you need! Notice regarding the number of dogs we board: We have voluntarily set our full capacity at 5 dogs. This is mainly for our own sanity. :) But, there will be times that stays from different dog owners overlap, resulting in there being more than 5 dogs present at some times. We try to minimize the length of time that such over bookings occur, but they do happen. Most of our business comes from repeat customers, so it's important to us to accommodate any bookings that we feel confident we can properly support. Our honestly, flexibility, and responsibility are our main selling points. You will receive that same level of service from us, if you should choose to board your dog(s) with us. You are always welcome to request to know how many dogs will be in our home during your dog's stay. If you have special requests, regarding which dogs you are comfortable with sharing space with your dogs, please notify us up front, and we can make the determination then, whether or not we are a good fit for your needs. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs are generally indoors with me, but are also allowed outside time. They have free access throughout the house during the day. At night, they are split up between bedrooms and sleep with us for the most part. We do have crates available if you prefer your dog crates at night for consistency. Really, we just try to duplicate what you do at home, so let us know what you prefer.

Pets

A typical day

There are times we may go on field trips to nearby 1,300 acre Lord Hill park or the Al Borlin Park, both here in Monroe. Otherwise, your dogs will be kept on our premises. Dogs will always be harnessed and leashed when leaving our yard. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog will be keep indoors at night. Time I'll spend with your dog: Your dogs will be under our direct supervision and care the entire time they stay with us. I work from home, so your pup(s) receive tons of attention.
