While I've been on Rover for 9 years, I've been caring for animals for more than 14 years as a volunteer for several pet rescues. Animal care is not just a job for me....it's a passion! I had 2 French bulldog of my own, who were my absolute world, but they have recently passed, both at age 14. My entire life revolved around their needs, and they were just one reason I decided to pursue caring for animals full-time. I wanted to provide the same care for other people's pets as I did my own... Ensuring that my home feels like their second home. It warms my heart when I see my returning visiting dogs come running into the home ready to start their vacation! I have been thoroughly trained through the rescues I volunteer for on how to properly introduce dogs to ensure a peaceful interaction and stay. I will always have them meet on neutral territory in the back yard, slowly and only one dog at a time. Many times slower introductions are utilized, allowing dogs to meet initially through baby gates. My house is always calm and I have never had issues with aggression or fights. At times when there are multiple dogs in my home, I will typically pair them depending on their energy level, age, and size. I don't have a typical rule though, and treat each stay differently, ensuring I am providing each dog with what I believe will be the most comfortable environment. 99% of my dogs are super regulars and come very frequently so I know their personalities and quirks very well, as well as who to pair who with for the most comfortable stay for them. I have 2 spare bedrooms that I use at times for breaks, feeding, and for sleeping arrangements. Your dog will never be sleeping in a room alone or be isolated unless they choose to. At times when we need breaks or for feeding, I will use the rooms with baby gates so I can always see what's going on, and so the dogs do not feel isolated. I also have cameras installed in all rooms that allow me to monitor the dogs interactions as well as communicate with them through the camera. I have a large half acre fully fenced yard with tons of huge shade trees and free space to run and explore. I do not leave dogs unattended in the yard, and will ask that you let me know if your dog has any escape or digging tendencies so I can be prepared. This is my only job, so I am home full-time with the exception of the occasional store or gym run, or to walk a local dog. While I am available most of the time, I do kindly ask that you respect my time and adhere closely to your requested drop off and pick up times. If times need to be adjusted, I am always willing to accommodate with proper notice. Drop-offs before 8am or pickups after 9pm will be charged an additional $15/hour. I do drop offs/pickups typically from 8:30- 11am and 2:30-9. On weekends, I cut off by 5:30pm Just to give myself flexibility for the evenings. So please book for pickup in the morning, however I am always happy to allow pickups in the evening on weekends if I'm available! I just asked that you book accordingly within these time frames as it helps keep some structure in my days. I require a 2-day minimum for bookings on the weekend. For example, if you plan to drop your dog off on Friday and pick up on Saturday, you would need to book for pickup Sunday morning though you can pick up Saturday evening. Basically there just needs to be a full 2-day charge in place so the full cancellation penalty applies. All daycare needs to be booked as boarding, again to ensure the cancellation penalty applies. I do not typically crate dogs, though if your dog is used to being in a crate, I do have plenty here for them to use so you don't have to send theirs unless you prefer. All dogs are different. Please let me know if your dog has any prior issues with chewing, anxiety/ excessive barking, marking, or aggression.
