Reservations do not overlap. Your pets will be my one and only focus. I'll be home with them MOST of the day and night. When/if I do have to leave them alone, it will be briefly and not before they have really settled in, which usually takes a night. I live alone in a 2 BR condo on the second floor of a fourplex in Heritage Village with fenced balcony. (I'm shy of retirement age, but while caregiving for my Mom, I built strong connections with other residents. I live near sidewalked areas or can drive to dog-friendly (but not off leash) parks.

Please remember to tell me: when and how much your pet eats when and how far your pet usually walks what meds/supplements your pet takes any allergies, phobias or known idiosyncrasies your pet has any cues or commands you or your pet regularly use typical clues that your pet is feeling anxious or upset or typical triggers anything in particular we should avoid at all costs including kids, cats, dogs, kites, bubbles...
A typical day
Different strokes for different folks: we'll start off by establishing how much and when your pet needs outdoor exercise, particularly during heat waves. We'll eat according to their usual routine. And we'll try to add some activities that are particularly catered to them. A bar dog might get a trip to a nearby brewery; a cattle dog will get lots of rounds of fetch; a curious dog can check out the pseudo-aquarium at pet smart. Also, lots of naps and bird watching from the balcony.

The "(2nd) Best Friend' Experience!
Pet care experience
Let me borrow your pet or just keep them company while you're away or at work. I'm privately insured and have reliable transportation and great local references. Your pets will be the ONLY animals in my care whether it's for boarding, drop-ins, walks, or house-sits except in rare circumstances and ONLY with your prior written permission. This Feb 15 - 17th is a rare circumstance! I'm hosting an uncommonly chill, tiny mop of a puppy for a friend, so she will be on-site during boarding. If you have a pet-friendly pet, inquire about a discount on a reservation that overlaps those dates. ABOUT ME: I'm an experienced caregiver whose strength is listening to your pet and their owner(s). I started dog walking and pet sitting to cope with the grief of losing my two senior dogs and it couldn't be going better. (Shout out to all the pets who supported me during that time!) If your dog, cat, fish, hamster or unicorn is aging, anxious, dramatic, grouchy, dribbly, clingy or just a bit of a nosepicker, I love them already. If they're well-behaved, that's okay too! To be clear, I do not have advance behavior experience. I cannot accept pets with known bite histories and I'm not qualified to train your pet. If anything, I turn good dogs bad. But not your dog! We'll be on our best (vacation) behavior. Just let me know about their rules and routines during our meet and greet. While nobody can replace mom and/or dad, I will make your pets feel safe, secure and comfortable while you're away. Pricing notes: Boarding rates drop to $70/nt for 3 night stays or longer. It's slightly more for one or two night stays because they're harder to schedule around. Increased discount for third and fourth pets is not reflected in the Rover total, but I can adjust the pricing before booking. *BOOKING NOTE: NO RESERVATIONS BEYOND APRIL 20th, 2026 AT THIS TIME* I am relocating at the end of April and have yet to determine exactly where. I'm hoping to stay local, but it's not guaranteed. (If you happen to know of a nice rental coming up, please send me that info!)

Thank you Tierna!! You once again cemented your “Dog Whisperer” status in all of CT!!

Unequivocally, the BEST!!

Tierna took great care of Sadie!

Tierna is a dog whisperer- my pups acted as if she were a familiar auntie from the minute they met her. She sent plenty of photos and updates, and is a total pleasure to work with.
