Pet care experience

Loving my four-legged furry friends

Hello, I’m Tiaesha. I enjoy pet sitting because of how loving, social, and caring animals are. I appreciate being able to look after them while earning an income. I especially love caring for canines – they are such selfless creatures! Previously, I worked as a pet nurse at a veterinarian hospital in Richmond, Virginia. I currently volunteer at a local animal shelter in New Jersey. In my personal and professional experience, patience and an open mind are extremely important qualities to have when looking after new pups. I treat all my furry guests like they’re family because, honestly, they are! I live in Highland Park in a dog friendly community with a private patio. There is a park within walking distance of my home and tons of maintained grassy areas to play on within my complex. I love how much space my apartment has and how friendly my community is. Three words to describe me are patient, friendly, and dedicated. I enjoy arts and crafts, music, and bike riding around my area to admire the scenery.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I only host, one pet at a time with house stays, whether within my home or your home. However, I can complete multiple drop-ins and walks. In my home, your loved one will have access to the entire home. I complete a walk-thru and "doggy-proof" before starting a stay. Your pet's safety is the main concern. I offer house sitting because I have learned that some pets really prefer the comfort of their home and scents. Learning new territory, even if for a day, can be a very stressful task. Knowing your pet and understanding their needs, really help in this scenario.

Based on my recent experience with Tiaesha, I cannot recommend her as a cat sitter. While she initially impressed me with her communication skills and attention to detail, her performance during the actual stay was far below expectations. Firstly, Tiaesha came late for the first day and never bothered to communicate with us that she would be late. We called and texted her but she did not respond in a timely manner. Things only continued to decline during the stay as Tiaesha left my cats alone for nearly 24 hours on two separate occasions without informing me, which is unacceptable. I understand emergencies happen, but Tiaesha should have informed us so we could have arranged for someone to step in to look after our cats. We discovered through our outdoor security cameras that she left our cats alone for over 18 hours on one occasion and never bothered to disclose this to us. The second time, she left my cats alone for over 21 hours, but my husband caught this during the stay through our security cameras and we confronted her. My cats were left without care (e.g., food and water) for nearly two full days, which is truly unacceptable. During our meet and greet, Tiaesha informed me that sometimes she has to go into the office at night. I told her it was important for someone to stay the night with my cats especially since one of my cats has asthma and sometimes needs medication. During the meet and greet she assured me she would arrange her schedule accordingly and go into the office more the week prior to the stay. With the agreement of overnight stays we prepared the house (e.g., bedrooms) for her stay. However, she only stayed the night once (confirmed through video footage), going against our agreement and Rover’s house-sitting policy. Additionally, there were four additional days where she stayed less than 6 hours. We paid a significant amount for Tiaesha to house-sit and did not receive the services we paid for. Despite her previous high reviews and extensive experience, Tiaesha's conduct during this stay demonstrated a concerning lack of reliability and professionalism. She never even responded to my message addressing these issues. This lack of communication and accountability further compounded my dissatisfaction. My experience with Tiaesha caused a lot of distress. Given these serious lapses in care, I would advise against hiring Tiaesha for pet-sitting services.

Tiaesha was so kind and loving to my timid little nova. I felt so comfortable with her and she aways kept me up to date with how Nova was doing with regular videos and pictures. Thank you so much!

As if the number of repeat bookings aren't enough of a sign, Tiaesha is a great person to entrust with the care of your dog. The good energy she radiates is palpable to my dog, who gets excited like a kid watching the ice cream truck go by whenever Tiaesha approaches our door. I always feel safe knowing my dog is in good hands when Tiaesha is there.

41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Tiaesha can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Before I meet your pup, please tell me if there are any health concerns or triggers I should know about. I’d also like to be aware of any allergies or medications as well as your dog’s nighttime and daytime routines. In addition, it would be helpful to know if your pet usually or unusually experiences separation anxiety, and if I am the host, bringing a certain item with them might aid in relieving the stress. I also ask owners if their dog is good with other pets or allowed to be transported in a vehicle. I treat every pet like family. Therefore, my errands can be part of theirs and they are encouraged to participate in social activities, if preferred or desired.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
