We hired Tia to house sit for two weeks while we were traveling. The bottom line is she failed to stay even through the duration of our flight, forcing us to find and book a new sitter on very short notice while we were still mid-air, with no ability to vet the person directly. Tia claimed the apartment was not acceptably clean — specifically our kitchen and bathroom. Granted, it wasn’t AirBnb levels of clean, especially since we had just moved in only days prior. But as a sitter myself, the apartment was well above average — and we’re paying her to stay there, not the other way around. Also, it’s not as if she didn’t know what to expect; we had a thorough meet-and-greet that included a walkthrough of the apartment. And even if it was unacceptably dirty (which it wasn’t for the sitter we ended up hiring), quitting without discussing compromise (such as hiring cleaners) was not an acceptable response — especially when she knew we were in the air and had little recourse. To her credit, she stayed through the morning duties until we cleared up a replacement sitter. And while there, she did take care of the basics — two walks a day for our dog, meds and food for our cat, etc. So perhaps she’s fine for drop-ins and walks. But I would stay away for overnight house sitting.

For the past 5 years, Tia has been the primary caregiver for our Aussie (Elly) and mixed breed American Rescue (Frida) when we were out of town. Elly and Frida truly love Tia. She is very caring towards them and is highly reliable and responsible while staying with them at our house. They are always excited to see her, and she manages their very different personalities. When challenges arise while caring for them, as will happen on occasion, she always contacts us to get any necessary information, and she cleans up after them when things happen. The house looks as we left it with her. I highly recommend Tia as a mature and responsible pet care giver who loves both cats and dogs and will treat them as her own. Sadly, we are moving and Tia will no longer be in the same city as us, so hopefully we can find someone to fill her shoes.

I can’t recommend Tia enough! She has pet sat for me multiple times and has always done an amazing job. She’s responsible, trustworthy, and super easy to communicate with. She truly loves animals, and it shows in how she cares for them. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my pets are with someone who treats them like her own. I’d absolutely trust her with my pets again.
