Vet Tech turned Stay at Home Mom
Pet care experience
** We have sustained considerably water and fence damage from hurricane Ian. Additionally we have a leaning tree that is unsafe for my dirty friends to be around until I can get it removed. All services are suspended while I deal with evaluation and repairs of the main pet sitting area of my home, their play yard. I will update as soon as I am able. Thank you for your understanding. Homeward Bound Pet Sitting! Perfect for pet owners who don't want to board their pet at a kennel, and may have concerns about dietary or medication needs. I am a retired veterinary technician/stay at home mom. I grew up rescuing animals and being around animals. Before my kids I have been a kennel technician, surgery technician, and an emergency veterinary technician. I specialized in working with scared and/or aggressive dogs (can't do that so much now with kids around, but could for daycare while they're at school) I have fostered puppies and kittens that still required bottle feeding. I am open to watching cats, dogs, and puppies of any age. I have one dog, Bo, who is an 80 pound male Anatolian Shepard. He is a very friendly boy and cuddles all of our foster babies and does not chase our chickens (oh yeah, we have 7 chickens so if you have a breed with a high prey drive I will take them out only on a leash until they have shown me that they aren't interested in eating them) I am comfortable keeping dogs that require medications from their veterinarian, including fluids and injectable medications. I can also do bathing and nail trims at an additional cost. I have extensive experience in helping animals with skin issues and would be happy to help with that as well. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog and animal lover for every single one of my 35 years on this planet! :) I grew up on a farm and have always had animals as part of my life. Dogs, cats, ferrets hamsters, gerbils, mice, ferrets, rabbits, quail, parakeets, turtles, large lizards (iguanas, savannah monitors) snakes....I could go on and on. I got my first job as a kennel technician and quickly excelled at it. I spent some time working with homeopathic dog treatments including herbal remedies and acupuncture. I have assisted in surgery as well as working at an emergency animal hospital, including the ICU and quarantine units. I have extensive experience with respiratory and skin allergy issues in both dogs and cats. Meet my pets Bo is an 80 pound Anatolian Shepard/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is sweet with all kinds of small animals, including kittens, puppies, and chickens. Nine and Ten are foster kittens that ended up staying here for their furever home <3 They had severe skin issues when they arrived, that I was unable to clear up until they were a bit big to be adoptable anymore so now they are ours. :) About my yard I have a huge backyard. The fence is old but any holes are patched so that my own dog cannot get out. It is probably half an acre or so. We have a pool and a huge screened porch over it. My experience administering medication Yes, I am comfortable administering medications, including injectable medications and fluids.
Reviews
Literally like having a loving family member take care of our fur baby! I was so anxious about our trip because we have a Jack Russell, who can be a major pain, but all went perfectly well! we will definitely use her again and will be able to enjoy being gone without any worry of her not having fun. Wonderful wonderful wonderful experience!
Teresa always does a wonderful job with our dogs. They always return to us very happy, as though they've been to summer camp and had a blast. or in this case fall camp. I highly recommend Teresa s.
So grateful during our week long cruise to trust Cooper with Theresa! She is Amazing! Bring away for so long I wouldn’t trust anyone else!
Hank had the BEST time!!! He had a ball! I got pictures while on my trip. I knew he was in wonderful hands! Thank you again :)

Information Theresa S. would like to know about your pet
I prefer dogs smaller than mine, as the only time he has shown any sign of aggression towards any animal it has been male dogs larger than himself (which takes a lot, he's a big boy!) I do not have any breed preferences, though any prey-drive breeds will be walked on a leash in my yard until I determine that they are not a threat to my chickens.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We walk dogs around our neighborhood. It is an older neighborhood with many families and people out walking. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will have his/her choice of where they want to sleep. My home is set up with multiple animal beds in every room. Pets are welcome on beds and other furniture, and may sleep wherever they would like. I recommend sending a blanket or bed that smells like home though, some dogs find that comforting. Dogs that are crate trained at night will need to bring their own crate. Time I'll spend with your dog I am pretty much home all day unless I run to the store or to check on someone else's pet. My pets all move to be in whichever room I happen to be in at the time. Your pet would pretty much be one of my pack and hang out in the same way. So basically all day.
