Unlike most "sitters", I am trained & certified in animal behavior & welfare from The Humane Society of The U.S. & Animal CPR Certified. Providing very personal service is something I take seriously, therefore; I am conservative in the number of new clients I take on each year. 🐾WHAT IS MY ANIMAL CARE EXPERIENCE? I've owned a variety of animals, usually in multiples, most of my life, but took their care far more seriously once I experienced adopting dogs with behavior & health issues. Without that experience, I may have never pursued the specialized training from The Humane Society of The U.S. that helped me to become a serious canine handler. Working as a volunteer in kennel environments as well as one on one with many different breeds of canine, feline & exotic animals has been truly inspiring & educational! 🐾GOT BIG DOGS ? Although I truly have no breed preferences, my specialty is large & giant breeds. I've owned & am extremely confident in my ability to handle what some think are "dangerous" animals & often discriminated against such as: AMPB/AMS (Pit Bull) Terriers, German Shepherd Dogs, Rottweilers, Chows, Doberman Pinschers, as well as many other large & giant breeds. 🐾WHEN AM I AVAILABLE, WHERE & FOR WHAT SERVICES? Last minute? Life happens, no worries! I am available throughout the Portland & surrounding areas. I am happy to discuss fees in detail prior to any booking. Please see details on fees above. 🐾DO I CARE FOR PUPPIES, SENIORS, MULTIPLE PETS, KITTIES, FARM ANIMALS or EXOTICS? Yes. These each have their own set of special needs & it's best to have someone with experience. I recommend overnights or multiple check ins for puppies & seniors as it's perfect for their extra needs. I have owned exotics such as reptiles. I’m also experienced with handling many types of farm animals! 🐾CAN I ADMINISTER MEDICATION? I am confident in administering medication in all forms, including injections. I would appreciate any details that seem to work with your pet to maximize dosing & minimize stress. 🐾WHAT EXTRA STEPS DO I TAKE TOWARDS YOUR PETS SAFETY & YOUR HOME SECURITY? Of course just being at home keeps them comfortable & more content, but your home is also kept safer by being monitored by me & your pets! There are no chances of picking up viruses, etc as can happen in kennels. I also take an extra precaution of attaching a temporary tag to each pets collar that provides my immediate contact info. 🐾DO I OFFER ADDITIONAL HOME SERVICES? Yes. I would be happy to arrange those as you need. I will treat your home and pets with respect and dignity. Besides the duties for your pets, I always keep things tidy in general, pick up your mail/newspapers, sign for packages, water plants & take out the trash. No one wants to come home to a mess & this increases the property security. 🐾WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PETS? I'd love to know anything you feel is important & unique to your pet(s) such as: daily schedule, medical needs, behavior triggers, commands, feeding schedule, daily grooming needs & special personality traits. I will have a questionnaire for us to go over together so that we cover every detail. I will ask that you provide details including additional contacts, medication directions, personal Vet info as well as the nearest 24 hour animal hospital 🐾HOW DO BOOKING FEES WORK? “Overnight” stays are a 24hr period. “Drop Ins” are in 30 or 60min increments. I generally give a 2hr grace period window for free in between. For example: We begin a house sit on a Friday morning at 8am to be completed at 8 am on Sunday. That is equal to 2 overnights. If you were to need to return after 10am, I would then charge pro rated daycare fees based on just how long you need in time beyond the booking window & grace period. This prevents confusion for everyone & keeps rates crystal clear while fully compensating me for the constant care of your beloved pets.
