A Home from Home for your Precious Pet.

Pet care experience

Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives and are important family members. We lost our beautiful family dog Pippa last year, she was an adorable 16 year old black and white shih-tzu who was much loved and a very important part of our family. She grew up along side our children and we miss her everyday, our home is not the same without her! We were lucky to nurse her through her senior years with love, patience and kindness as she faced some health issues including hearing loss and eventually sight loss. She is the reason we have decided to board and care for other people's much loved pets. Fortunately for us, our son and daughter-in-law have a gorgeous puppy who we look after when they're away (or whenever we get the chance to steal him) so we are still a well equipped doggie house with a crate, if needed. We also have a small dog flap for access to our secure enclosed courtyard garden. We have supported and aided our son and daughter in law with their pets puppy training, which is on-going as he's a very enthusiastic boy, so we are happy to have puppies still in the training stage! We know how important repetition is so will happily follow your instructions to make sure your Puppy has consistancy while staying with us. We have beautiful parks and woodlands on our doorstep for lovely walks including Hillyfields and Forty Hall which were our favourite walks with Pippa. We also have a safe enclosed gated dog run/field we can hire thats only 10 minute drive away called The Dog Run for any dogs that prefer or need a safe private run around! We took Pippa there in her senior years as was more appropriate for her and it's ideal for our sons puppy as he has tons of energy and hasn't quite mastered recall yet! We see our home as a safe secure loving home from home for your beloved pet. We will happily have your pet sitting with us, on laps if that's their thing and we get lucky, or snuggled in a comfy bed at our feet in the evening! Equally, if your dog is the type who prefers a bit of space and down time, as some do, we have a cosy nook in our kitchen where they can relax and sleep in a crate or comfy bed, depending which they prefer. We will ask you to fill out a short questionnaire before a stay so we can get to know your dog better and fully meet their needs while they're with us.

Theresa is a very competent dog carer!! As soon as I met her and saw how she interacted with me and my new puppy - Hiro, I knew that all was well. It’s quite nerve racking finding someone to care for your new young pup for the first time- but I was very reassured by Theresa’s presence and attitude around dogs. I would highly recommend her. Thanks again Theresa!!

I am so grateful to have found such a reliable boarder and dog walker. Theresa goes above and beyond with the level of care she provides for my dog. Molly has separation anxiety and struggles with boarding but Theresa is amazing with her and she settles really well, we always return to a very happy and relaxed little dog. I highly recommend Theresa.

Theresa has kept our staffy for over 2 years and we’ve been nothing but pleased. She’s really loving towards him and takes absolutely fantastic care of him so we always know he’s in good hands when away. Theresa also does a great job of keeping us updated on what our dog is up to or needs. If she’s ever got a question, she lets us know. I couldn’t recommend Theresa enough!

Theresa has walked and cared for my dog, Moose, since we got him over 2 years ago. She is fantastic with him, and he absolutely loves her too. Theresa is great at taking care of Moose, she is responsible, affectionate and caring, while also giving Moose the boundaries he needs as he can be very enthusiastic! I would recommend Theresa to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog.

Information Theresa M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know these details about your pet by email. 1. Does your dog have any behavioural issues that will help me provide appropriate care? 2. How do they interact with other dogs? On a walk or in the home? 3. Do you allow others to pet or interact with your dog on a walk? 4. What's the main issue or worry you have about your pet when leaving them with boarders? 5. Is your pet ok around children? 6. What's your dogs daily routine? E.G. - where do they like to sleep, what time do they eat and walk etc. 7. How old is your pet? Do they have any special needs regarding health, diet, etc.? 8. If there is any other information you feel would be useful and help me take the care of your dog while they stay with us please let me know.

A typical day

Exercise is very important and the dogs I care for are walked daily, sometimes twice a day if appropriate, as well as being stimulated mentally. As your pet is unique, we'll be guided by your instructions about the activities they like and will ensure we meet their needs. I know how important consistency is for most pets so will do my best to keep their routine as close to the one they have at home.

I do not work outside the home, apart from visits to an elderly parent, so while your dog is with us they are priority and my schedule will revolve around them and their needs. We will walk once a day but if more walks are needed we can easily facilitate that. Also, for an additional fee we can book 'The Dog Run' for your dog. Ideal for puppy training or senior dogs who prefer a relaxed saunter around a field undisturbed and at their own pace, or energetic dogs who love to let off steam in a secure enclosed setting.
