Pet care experience
I work for myself from home and from my artist studio. I have almost a whole acre of yard with gardens and a wooded area to explor I also have a safe fenced in area. I consider myself the original dog whisperer and my daughters are the same, dogs just love us and gravitate mostly towards my youngest. I am the one with the treats though and I love making a pup learn new tricks! I've loved dogs all of my life and I've never been without one for very long. Rocky is my Chihuahua. He was found wandering a parking lot in Rocky Hill and turned into the police department. I said I would take him home because he was so small he could not possibly even go in one of the animal control officers cages, and he won my heart. He is my constant companion! He is wonderful at soothing big dogs and little dogs alike and everybody loves him. I'm a very energetic person and love dogs of all sizes, but I'm strict with their behavior. I know when a dog needs to be worked or loved, exercised or relaxed. Fed or watered or left alone. Treats are for good behavior and I usually make my own. I offer free meet and greets and would be happy to schedule one with you before your booking.

We were so lucky to meet Theresa! This was our first time away from our pup, and she put us at ease. She sent photos and kept us updated all weekend, and Milo was so happy and well cared for! We can’t recommend her enough!!

Theresa was amazing with our boy, Remy. We booked with her last minute before leaving on a week long trip. She was extremely accommodating and understanding to our specific needs. Long story short, Remy is a 4 mo old puppy who still needs A LOT of training. Theresa was incredibly patient with our boy, and even spent time training him when we were away. I felt like Remy was safe when he was with her, and she sent pictures and updates every single day. I know that Remy did not make things easy for her, but she stuck it out and took wonderful care of our baby. I would highly recommend her services!

I have a Chihuahua and often will have my daughter's pitbull. Both are well behaved and non reactive, friendly and loving pups. Both behave well off leash too and are trained. Other dogs will learn from them by just being around them.

I need to know if your dog is not house trained. This seems to be the biggest issue that I’ve had so far. I like to know their personality traits as much as possible. If your dog is extremely anxious, I can work with him to give them a sense of calm. I have trained a lot of different dogs. I find the work to be rewarding and the dogs do too!
A typical day
Trail hiking, ball chase, tire on a rope, squeeky toys, dog parks, beach time, water play, trails, behavior training while walking. These are all my specialty.

Availability
I have a flexible with my time, I have a fenced in area and safety is my main concern. While I encourage owners to find places to do off leash training, I am never going to take a clients dog off leash just to be safe. I do take client’s dogs to dog parks that I feel are of the best quality and most well-behaved dogs.T there are some dogs that just need some social time with other dogs and can really benefit with making new friends with a professional eye watching for aggressive behavior or becoming more anxious. Knowing when to leave is as important as knowing how to enter the park.
