Hard rule: Dogs are always leashed when they’re outside. Unless instructed, pet food or human food are completely separate. Please let me know if your dog has a tendency to rush out the door. Plenty of photos or video if you wish can be provided in real time during the service. I will always be available for questions and for update updates!

Information Thea P. would like to know about your pet

1. Their schedule, regarding feeding, walks, etc. 2. Please let me know of medications and food allergies/limitations (such as peanut butter). 3. Any preferences of toys or limitations? (Such as fragile teeth = no tug-o-war 4. Any injuries or surgeries, past or recent, that you think I should know about.

A typical day

In the morning they’ll enjoy a walk in the neighborhood, if a meal at this time is part of their routine, they’ll have a break and be fed. During the day, it’s incredibly hot and unsafe for dogs to be walked, hence, they’ll have fun playing inside the house, and maybe we can throw in some training/bonding time, if desired. I can make dog-safe ice popsicles for them as a treat in the afternoon, and frozen wet paper towels to cool them down if they show signs of overheating after an afternoon/ evening walk. By night after the meal at their regular feed time, if needed, I can brush their teeth and wipe their paws, & they’ll be ready for bed!

Pet care experience

I raised 2 border collies puppies since birth (they’re in New Zealand), and I volunteered at a service-dog center for 1 year. Beyond that, I’ve been a pet sitter on Rover and in private for 4+ years. This gave me extensive theoretical and practical experience to handle pets of all ages, especially: reading their body language, checking for ticks, paw balms, dental health, preventing heat-strokes, even puppy-training! I cannot own a pet for now, but I would love an opportunity to take care of yours! If a pet is home, it would become a primary consideration when planning daily activities, to ensure they are fed, walked on time, etc. Feeding times and activities needed varies by dog breed, and the family the pets are from. It is crucial that I ensure to follow your provided schedule to best make the care easily adaptable for your pet. As a dog-owner, I ensure to take care of the details, such as picking up any food on the floor so they don’t eat it by accident. Please reach out with any questions! Happy to chat :)

Thea took exceptional care of our Doberman, Clyde, while we were away for a long weekend. She kept us updated throughout our trip with multiple daily messages, along with plenty of photos and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. We recently moved and haven't fully unpacked yet, and Thea even went out of her way to buy Clyde some new toys. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness and the excellent care she provided. We would happily trust her with Clyde again!

I would give 100 stars if I could, and if I lived in Chapel Hill and weren't visiting, I would be a repeat customer. Thea is a gem of a person and dog sitter. Our dog is anxious and generally suspicious of anything on two legs, but let Thea pet him within 20 minutes and then while we were gone he asked for belly rubs??! Magic. Thea is very good at reading dog's temperament and she sent lovely updates with pictures throughout the evening. She was also very patient with us, as we were a bit chaotic leading the house and had to return a few times. Can't say enough good things, I *highly* recommend her
