Pet care experience

Friendly, approachable individual!

I have many years of pet sitting, up to several pets at a time, including owning many of my own since I was a child. I am patient when meeting new pets, for I understand it may take time to warm up to new people (and other pets!) I’m friendly, and talk to most animals just like they’re humans (lol). I enjoy spending time playing around, going for runs, as well as providing companionship when around pets. We love snuggling in bed over here! I’m not easily intimidated by a shy pet, and will treat them with the same respect and patience as their owners. I have high expectations for my own, so I believe it is only normal and natural to give the same in return for others’ pets so their families are comfortable with who they leave their furry friends with when away. My boy is the friendliest dog ever! He absolutely loves meeting other dogs (and the owners to receive even more affection 🤣). He’s got a lot of energy, which can overwhelm others the first day (he just wants to play!) He is very gentle with small dogs. When meeting others’ on the first day, If they are uncomfortable with his energy level and show they need time to warm up, he immediately backs off and resorts to my side until they are ready. He is very submissive in this sense which is great for no escalation and providing other dogs with the time they need to adjust to a new setting/new friends.

Drop-In Visits • Mar 06, 2026

Tessa agreed to breakfast drop-ins for my old dog who requires medications at a certain time. When we were discussing through messages before the meet and greet, she assured me that the times were not a problem and that she could go into work a little late since she's a supervisor. At the meet and greet, I asked if she wanted to come earlier so she didn't have to be late for work and she agreed. I don't ever want anyone to be late for their normal job if they don't have to be and we try to be as flexible as possible with Damian's care and medication schedule. Fast forward to the first drop-in and she arrived on time and sent me a couple of pictures (but no Rover card or details on if he had his medication, pottied, etc.). However, she only stayed for half the time that I paid for and didn't give any heads up that she couldn't stay the entire visit. I was a little confused because we discussed whether timing would be a problem before even doing a meet and greet and she said it wouldn't. When I asked her about leaving early she said she didn't realize it would take so long to let her own dogs out and stuff before coming over and that she'd need to get up earlier. She offered to refund the visit, but that wasn't really the point. The lack of communication was really off-putting. I'm a sitter myself on Rover, so I don't like leaving reviews like this, but I canceled the rest of the booking because I was pretty disappointed and worried that my dog wasn't going to receive proper care while I was away caring for someone else's dogs, myself. I did ask if she could refund the cancellation fees and she ignored my message and never responded back, solidifying the poor communication concerns I already had. I imagine Tessa provides great care for clients in her own home, and like to think that maybe she just committed to something she shouldn't have, given her work schedule, but I won't be booking with her again. Especially since she didn't even have the professional courtesy to respond back when I asked for the cancellation fee to be waived. Whether the answer be a yes or no.

House Sitting • Jan 20, 2025

Tessa was awesome. She went above and beyond. Even coming to let them out earlier because she knew I was at work before I left on my trip. She was prompt. Spent time cuddling and playing with my pups and wasn't intimidated by my crazy big puppy who can be a bit much when first out of the crate! Would recommend 100%

Tessa is probably the best dogsitter we’ve had from Rover. She was very respectful and super communicative, and we will definitely use her again in the future if we can. Highly recommend!

I work a full time day job Monday-Friday 8-4, so please be sure prior to requesting services, your pets are able to accept this schedule. I am unfortunately unable to stop in midday as my lunch break does not allow for me to make it very far under 30 minutes. My pets along with the others’ I have boarded have had no issues with a routine working schedule, but every pet has different needs. ❤️

Safety, trust & environment

I care for others’ pets like they are my own! It is my duty as a trusted sitter to care for others’ pets in a way they need. I predominantly care for pets in others homes as I have several pets of my own. I do not have any issue with camera systems being in shared spaces to assure families feel safe having someone in their home with their pets.
