Tessa the Trusted Pet Lover!

Hi there! My name is Tessa. I graduated from UC Davis in 2020 and currently work in clinical research on Alzheimer’s prevention studies. I absolutely love animals and have grown up with them my whole life. I have had both cats and dogs and have petsat for many years. I have a dog of my own, Ollie, who I adopted in 2020. I love to take him on walks and hikes, and throw the ball for him in my backyard. He has taught me the unexpected difficulties that can come with being a dog owner, but more importantly the overwhelming amount of love that dogs bring to our lives! I am responsible, reliable, and love all breeds of dogs. I have experience with leash reactivity and resource guarding, as well as giving medications and sticking to a medication schedule. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pet!

Our dog loves Tessa, likely due to her calm and patient demeanor. And we love Tessa because she’s reliable and a good communicator.

Tessa is always friendly and accommodating. She is so good with my dog. I know he is having a good time with her dog also. Great comforting home. Especially since she lets my dog sleep on the bed with her. Love that❤️. Would highly recommend Tessa!

Tessa was amazing with our anxious dog, Polly. We recently moved to the area and were so happy to find someone that Polly was comfortable around. Tessa did drop ins for oral medication and potty breaks, and made sure that Polly got lots of love!

Tessa was fantastic and my cat never hesitated to come out when she was here (a rarity). He trusts her and that means a lot to me. She was extremely communicative and followed all of my instructions perfectly. I would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again.

Schedule

I work M-F less than five minutes from my home and have a very flexible work schedule. During the work week this allows me to easily come home to check in on your pet and let them out for potty breaks. I take my dog Ollie for walks twice a day and would love for your dog to join us!

Pets

A typical day

Depending on your dog’s energy levels, we can go on walks or runs around the neighborhood, hang out on the couch, play fetch in the backyard, or go on a hike.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
No females in heat
Tessa can host up to 2 pets per night
If you are requesting a boarding (having your pup stay at my house), your dog must be house-trained as I rent my home. I also ask that you only request a boarding if your dog is able to respect other dogs’ space, as my dog Ollie gets uncomfortable and stressed around dogs who constantly get up in his face. If your dog is high energy and constantly likes to play with other dogs, it will not be a good fit. I require a meet & greet prior to watching your pup to make sure they get along with Ollie and are comfortable in my home. Please let me know if your pet has special needs, needs any medications, or has any behavioral tendencies that I need to be aware of. Doing so will help me better care for them! Lastly, I will have an AirTag on your pet when they are with me so that I can locate them in case of an emergency.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
