I work mostly from home with occasional gigs that are generally less than half a day. Dogsitting is very amenable to my schedule and the dogs will never be left alone for more than a few hours.

I live in a spacious 1 bedroom with lots of sun and a courtyard that is fully fenced in. My neighbors are all dog lovers and it's a dog-friendly building primarily with small dogs but I am able to house bigger dogs.

I have spent a lot of time with dogs that suffer from substantial anxiety and they have always warmed up to me quickly. I know how to manage them but it is always helpful to know in advance!
A typical day
I have lots of toys for all the dogs to play with. Tug of war is one of my dog's favorite games and he loves to play fetch with other dogs. I am able and happy to bring dogs to the dog park if the owner allows and I live right near Griffith park so I can bring the dogs on nice hikes if they are able!

I am writer and professional dogwalker/sitter. I love all things dogs, cuddling (with dogs), running (with dogs), reading (with dogs--if they want), watching movies (with, you guessed -- dogs). Generally just am the happiest when hanging out with a gaggle of pups. Even all the magnets on my fridge are some variation of a dog. I've always been the first person on the call list as the dogsitter for my friends and family, for some I'm even the designated god-mother and walked one friend's dog down the aisle at her wedding!I have worked for professional agencies as well. Additionally, I foster pets when I can. Saving and helping endangered and needy pets is one of my true passions and each dogs i've watched or fostered holds a place in my heart--my clients can attest to that. I've grown up with dogs and have for provided dog care for over 16 years. While staying with me your dog will receive three walks a day and lots of pampering. I have a basket full of toys, from squeakers, balls, stuffed animals, to different styles of bones. I am very flexible to your schedule!

Tessa stayed with my 6.5 year old lab-cattle dog mix at my house for 3 nights and was both an excellent sitter and communicator about my watching my pup, but also very respectful with my home while I was away. She took generous time in our initial meetup, provided regular updates with photos while I was away, and communicated proactively throughout. I'd recommend Tessa to anyone looking for an in-home pet sitter. A+
