Hi! I’m Tessa, and I’d love to help care for your pup while you’re away. I recently lost my own dog after many wonderful years together (though never enough…). While I’m not quite ready to have another dog of my own, I really miss having one around and would love the opportunity to give your dog plenty of love, attention, and care. We have a small, fenced yard that we use for quick potty breaks but our main exercise is long walks or adventures to dog friendly establishments. I have a hybrid schedule and my boyfriend works from home, so someone is almost always around. We’re happy to accommodate your dog’s normal routine, medication schedule, exercise needs, or any other special care to help them feel comfortable and at home. Looking forward to answering any questions (and asking some of my own) before getting to know your pets!

Tessa was wonderful at watching our dog, Junie! She sent awesome photos and updates to us all weekend including trips to our dog’s favorite dog park. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring dog lover and will be looking to reach back out to Tessa next time we need another sitter.

Tessa is a caring and responsible pet lover. She owns a dog herself and is very caring and considerate of her dog. She always puts her dog first and is constantly adapting and changing to give her dog the best and what he needs. She is extremely selfless when it comes to caring for animals and is always working hard to show them love and affection. Whether it is hot, cold, snowing, or raining, she is always out walking her dog to give it the exercise it needs. She has also watched my pets on multiple occasions and I know I can always trust her to go above and beyond in caring for my pets. She can closely follow a set list of instructions and also go above and beyond to treat my dog like her own. She has grown up with animals her entire life and I have watched her find shown care and affection for every animal she comes in contact with. She has never met an animal that didn’t immediately love her and always finds a way of being an animal whisperer. She would be perfect for this job and any pet owner would be lucky to have Tessa caring for there animal, whatever its needs may be.

Schedule
Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I work a hybrid schedule, and on the days I’m in the office, my boyfriend works from home, so your dog will rarely be left alone for long periods. We can accommodate regular potty breaks, feeding schedules, medications, and any other routine your dog is used to. I enjoy staying active and am happy to provide daily walks, longer adventures, or even runs for dogs that enjoy them and have the energy for them! Whether your pup prefers lots of playtime or just wants a cozy place to relax with company, we’ll make sure they get the care, attention, and exercise they need.

Pets in my home are treated like part of the family. Between myself and my boyfriend, it is rare that your pet will be left at home alone. I will follow your dog’s routine as best I’m able and share updates and pictures throughout their stay so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands.
A typical day
Every dog is different, so I like to tailor activities to their personality and routine! Whether it’s playing fetch or tug with their favorite toys, exploring on walks, hikes, runs, camping trips, or even swimming (if they enjoy it), I’m happy to keep active dogs engaged. I also have experience working with professional trainers—my previous dog was leash reactive, so I attended multiple training programs with him. Because of that, I’m comfortable reinforcing training, practicing tricks, and confidently walking dogs with a variety of reactivity levels using your preferred commands and techniques. And if your pup is more of a couch potato, I’m just as happy to spend the evening snuggled up watching a movie with them.
