I treat everyone’s home with the same respect I expect at my own. I also take privacy very seriously. I am always happy to do meet-and-greets at a public park (or similar) before services. Again, I get it — you're trusting someone new in your home and with your animals. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible!
Information Tess R. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to know if your dog has anxiety -- general or specific -- and if so, that's okay! Mine does too, so I get it. If I'm aware, I'll do my best to support your pup in every way I can. Same goes for cats, so I can make sure they feel as comfortable as possible during my visit. If your dog has favorite toys or places to visit on walks, I'd love to know that too. If they're squirrel-obsessed (or lizard-obsessed), how they are interacting with dogs on leash, if they are territorial generally or about something specific, etc. Again -- nothing is necessarily a deal breaker, just good to know.
A typical day
I'm super active! I love hiking, trail-running and climbing (my dog Jack is a designated "crag dog"). Being in SoCal, I'm very cognizant of heat levels, but whenever it's safe to do so, I'm taking pups to the trails (i.e. in the Arroyo, the foothills of Altadena, and off the Angeles Crest Highway). Note: I'm well versed in outdoors/wildlife safety, such as coyote and bear safety, heat safety, etc. I also love a home play session for hot days or homebodies! My indoor cat is obsessed with belly scratches and her string toy. I have experience caring for elderly dogs and cats are love a gentle, slow walk or relaxed play. Note: I have experience with first aid, oral and injected medication, but not doggy CPR.

Pet care experience
***UPDATE! Opening my profile up to new clients again after about a year, as I have some openings! Feel free to reach out with inquiries!*** I have had dogs my entire life, and what can I say — I just love them. I have cared for dogs for 20 years, and even spent a few years training dogs at the American Kennel Club (AKC). I rescued my own pup nearly 10 years ago, and rescued my cat ~5 years ago now-- and have since been equally obsessed with felines. They’re incredibly different animals, with their own way of looking at the world, both of which I respect. Over the years, I have walked and cared for many family's, friends’ and colleagues' dogs and cats of all ages, before opening my network to my neighborhood. ***Key Notes: - Currently, I am open for dog walking and dog/cat drop-ins. Please see all service options (including add-ons) in my profile and feel free to reach out with questions! - For 60-minute walks, depending on location, weather and your comfort level, I can take your pup(s) for a hike or trail-run nearby! - I have a range of experience, from energetic and exercise-craving dogs to elderly pups who require gentle care and a patient, slower speed. I love providing care for either side of the spectrum, and all in between. The bottom line is: the safety of your dog/dogs is my top priority. I know how it is. I’ve used Rover and other services for my dog and cat, and I understand how it feels to entrust another person with your fur-kiddo. I am patient and will give you whatever you need to feel comfortable with me as a caregiver — from answering questions, to a meet-and-greet (in person or on zoom), to picture updates all along the way. Every dog and cat is different, and I want to know what makes your beloved pet unique so I can provide him/her with the best care. I’m a good communicator — from medications to leash/sidewalk politics to triggers and everything in between, you can rest assured we will be on the same page. I have experience caring for all shapes and sizes: - Chihuahuas and Terriers (my dog Jack is a mix!) - Bernese Mountain Dogs - Border Collie Mixes - Shepherds - Staffy’s - Golden Retrievers - Shelties - Samoyeds - King Charles - Schnauzers - Norwegian Forest Cats - Tabbies I am happy to take on puppies/kittens and can integrate any training you might be working on with your fur-kiddo.

Just simply the best!!!!!!

Tess is the absolute best! She’s walked our dog, Archie, for over a year now and is so sweet with him. She’s so communicative and sends the best pics and details from his walks. We can always rely on her to help with Archie and are so appreciative! 🩷

Just simply the best!!!
