Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, I aim to create a seamless, comforting environment by sticking closely to their established routines. I make sure pets are fed on time, walked or exercised regularly, and given plenty of play and affection to reduce stress while their owners are away. I also maintain the home as clean and orderly as I found it, including managing litter boxes, cleaning up after pets, and keeping their space tidy. In my own home, I offer a safe and pet-friendly environment where your pet will receive constant attention. I ensure there’s plenty of space for play (I own a very big garden), rest, and comfort, with regular exercise and breaks in a secure, supervised area. Both in-home and at-home, I prioritize your pet’s well-being and make sure they feel loved, secure, and relaxed. If I am studying while the pet is relaxing/chilling inside the house, I make sure that I am always in the same room as them so that they are not left alone/feel lonely.

Information Tess C. would like to know about your pet
It's important for me to know a few key things about your pets ahead of time to provide the best possible care: Health and medical needs: Any medications, allergies, or health conditions I need to be aware of, along with your pet’s veterinary info in case of emergencies. Behavior and temperament: How they interact with strangers, other pets, and new environments, as well as any triggers, anxieties, or habits that might affect their comfort or safety. Routines: Feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any favorite activities or toys that help them feel at ease. Training: Specific commands, rules around the house, or ongoing training that I should maintain. Special care requirements: For senior pets, puppies, or those with mobility issues, knowing any special instructions for care, such as carrying, assistance with stairs, or extra potty breaks.
A typical day
When taking care of pets, I make sure to keep them entertained and engaged with activities tailored to their personalities and energy levels: For dogs: I love taking them on fun, stimulating walks or runs in safe, pet-friendly areas. We’ll play fetch, tug-of-war, or even work on basic commands to keep them mentally and physically active. For high-energy pups, I offer longer play sessions to burn off extra energy, while senior dogs get gentle strolls and relaxing companionship. For cats: I engage them with interactive play using toys like feather wands, laser pointers, or puzzle feeders to tap into their natural instincts. If they’re more independent, I offer cozy cuddle sessions or simply ensure they have a peaceful space to nap. For all pets: Whether it’s teaching new tricks, playing with their favorite toys, or offering some quiet snuggle time, I tailor the fun to what they enjoy most. My goal is to keep them happy, active, and relaxed while you're away!

Reviews

Tess is an exceptional sitter! She gave our dog Igi the best day, taking her on multiple walks and giving her lots of cuddles and love. She kept us updated throughout the day and sent lots of very sweet pictures. I came home to an immaculate, cosy home and a very happy dog! Tess is clearly an extremely attentive, caring, reliable and responsible person, and I would highly recommend her. Having her sit Igi has been the best experience we've had with finding care on Rover to date. Thank you so much Tess!
