Pet care experience
I am a native of Colorado Springs. I graduated from Palmer High School and went to college at UCCS. My love for animals started as a child. I grew up next to a wonderful couple that bred dogs and rabbits. I was surrounded by dogs, puppies and bunnies the majority of my childhood and developed a strong interest for the care of animals. I currently have 3 female boxers, Lila, Daisy Mae and Rosie Rae. Daisy and Rosie are a mother daughter duo, Lila is from a previous litter i had. She is 11 years old. Daisy 3 and Rosie is 1. They keep me busy. I have an adult daughter and a grand dog that live in Denver. I have decided to pursue a career in pet care and I am very excited to be a part of your pets’ lives! I have enjoyed a career as a preschool teacher. I taught at the Rockledge Ranch in the Garden of the Gods. This school was on a farm with lots of animals. I was able to incorporate the care of animals into the preschool curriculum and published curriculum for the Colorado Department of Wildlife while I taught there. I am very grateful to have had that opportunity. I have also had a career in the automotive industry and taught and wrote curriculum at a vocational college in Automotive Mechanical Repair. I am an experienced dog trainer. I have volunteered and apprenticed at House of Dogs Boarding/Training/Daycare and for All Breeds Rescue and Training and have tons of dog handling experience. I have worked with dogs that have behavior challenges as well as multiple dog families. I enjoy gardening, hiking, and cooking. You will find that I am caring, punctual and reliable. Attention to detail is very important to me. When leaving my pets in someone else’s care I have very high expectations. I understand how important it is to have ease of mind when leaving your pets in the care of someone else. I can assure you that you will be well informed while I am watching your pets so that you can enjoy your time while away. I am looking forward to meeting your family! I care for and walk pets full time. My business hours are 7am. - 7pm. Monday-Sunday. However, I can be flexible if alternate hours are needed. Your pets' comfort and safety are my first priority. I provide everything needed when walking dogs including treats, waste bags, leashes and harnesses. When doing an In Home Visit I bring activities for your pet including enrichment puzzle, treat dispensing balls and frozen treats to help with boredom and anxiety. I always refresh the water and give a lot of tender loving care to your pet while in your home. I offer Drop In Visits, Dog Walking , Obedience Training, and behavior modification programs for you and your pets. I will feed, give fresh water and lots of tender loving care for every visit. I often will bring enrichment activities for your pets during visits. During walks, I provide all leashes, harnesses, treats and waste bags. You don’t have to worry about anything, all I need is the pup. I would like to introduce our new team member Amy. Amy and I met while we were working in the automotive industry. We became fast friends, and our friendship continues to grow. As everyone knows, entrusting your fur babies care with someone is difficult. I have extremely high expectations for anyone that cares for my girls. When I was challenged with the task of hiring a pet sitter, Amy kindly offered her time and services. She completely understood what my girls meant to me and knew the trust level needed for this undertaking. She jumped in with enthusiasm and the willingness to take on the challenge. I have 3 female boxers ranging in age of a puppy to a senior. I breed my younger girls. Amy played a vital role in our first litter of 11 puppies and was always available to help when needed. I recently went on vacation. Amy watched the girls for me. She trained twice a week with us before I went on my trip. During that time, we covered basic obedience training, safety practices in handling canines, nutritional needs and enrichment activities. She went through a bootcamp in pet care before I left. Amy did a phenomenal job caring for my girls. This is the very reason I have full faith and trust in adding her to our team. I am fortunate to have her as a friend and coworker. Here is a little bit about her. Amy- I have been in Colorado Springs for about 20 years. I am originally from the East Coast area as I was raised in a military family. I graduated from Doherty High School and then received my Bachelors in Sociology from UCCS in 2021. My love for animals started early in life as we always either had guinea pigs or dogs around the home. Around age 10, I started volunteering at a horse stable and fell in love with everything equestrian. This grew into riding and competing through my early twenties. During this time, I started working as a stable hand and riding instructor at several stables in the Black Forest area. I have observed many similarities in horse and dog training through my ongoing apprenticeship with Tess. I currently work full time for a child welfare agency and have an 18 year old son. Tess and I met working in the automotive industry as she was my supervisor. This grew into a friendship. We have known each other for several years and I am so excited to continue to learn from her and be a part of our team! Looking forward to working with you and your pet families!
Reviews
Amy took such great care of my dog while I was gone on a very long trip out of the country, and it was so nice knowing I didn't need to worry about him! He was so excited to see her when I dropped him off, and I know he loves staying with Amy. She even dealt with his difficult eating habits like a pro! And I loved getting regular photo and video updates. Highly recommend working with Tess and Amy.
Tess is wonderful! Tess helped us with our 3 mini dachshunds during our son’s college graduation. She was a great communicator, detail oriented and very patient. I was a bit nervous because one of our dachshunds was recovering from a back injury. Tess was SO reassuring, compassionate and administered all of his medications perfectly. She sent detailed updates and pictures! We are beyond appreciative of Tess and recommend her to anyone!
Tess is the best!!
Tess is a gem! She takes excellent care of my pup and Izzy loves her. She is great with communication and has even helped us out with last-minute bookings. Its clear that she genuinely loves what she does.
