Hello! My name is Teresa and my fiance and I am an animal lover! I currently have two cats. My fiancé and I are both animal lovers and homebodies! We spend our free time hanging out with our boys, watching movies, and taking walks on one of the nearby walking trails. I have watched dogs for friends and family throughout my life. I nannyed for a family for 3 years that owned a yellow lab. I cared for her daily and whenever the family went out of town. While pursuing a degree in psychology, I had the opportunity to train dogs at the Nebraska Humane Society for a learning lab. It was such a rewarding and amazing experience to work with such a wide variety of breeds. Ever since that experience, I have volunteered at local shelters and rescues to continue helping shelter dogs. I also donate money annually to all the shelters I have volunteered at. My fiance and I fostered and a litter of kittens from 2 1/2 weeks old to 14 weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed fostering and ended up keeping one of the babies, which is now our youngest cat. I continued my education to pursue a degree in school psychology. I am currently completing my internship and will graduate in May 2015. My training has focused on learning theory and applied behavior analysis. This background helps me understand animal behavior and how to adjust it if necessary with positive behavior techniques. I had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for 8 years. He trained me well on several medical issues. He has epilepsy, severe food and inhalant allergies. irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, congestive heart failure, and luxating patellas. My two cats also have allergies and require daily medication. I am able to give oral, topical, and injection medications. During your dog's stay, they can expect lots of attention, play time and walks on one of the nearby trails. We love having fur babies to cuddle with and follow us around the house! . Our cats have grown up with our dog and are very friendly. Let me know if you have any questions! We would LOVE to have your fur-baby come stay with us! :) Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all my life. I had a special relationship with my Shih Tzu growing up. Ever since then, I have always enjoyed being around dogs. I have dog-sat for friends and family throughout my life. I always am happy to help out someone who needs a sitter for their fur-baby! I nannyed for a family with a yellow lab for 3 years in undergraduate. While pursuing my undergraduate degree in psychology, I got hands-on experience working with and training dogs of a sizes and breeds at the Nebraska Humane Society. It was incredibly rewarding and opened me up to all types of dogs :) Ever since my experience at the Nebraska Humane Society, I have volunteered for local animal shelters. I enjoy walking and playing with shelter dogs. I also enjoy working with them on simple commands. My fiance and I fostered a litter of kittens in the summer of 2013. They were 2 1/2 weeks old when we got them and we bottle fed them, weaned them, litter box trained them, and helped them get adopted, except for the one we kept :) It was an incredible experience and showed us what an amazing bond you can have with foster and rescue animals. We plan on getting our next dog from a shelter because we have had such wonderful experiences volunteering and working with them. Meet my pets 2 Adult American Short Hair cats About my yard I don't have a yard, but I live near several walking/biking trails, open spaces, and parks. I have pictures of some of the areas in my profile. My experience administering medication I am comfortable giving oral and topical medications. I give my dog and cats medication every day.
