Meeting Every Dog Where They Are

I’ve been surrounded by dogs for as long as I can remember. My grandma always had at least two—from Freida, her giant schnauzer, to Murray, her corgi—and I grew up helping walk, brush, and care for them. I began pet-sitting when I was just 9 years old, took responsibility for my own dog at 11, and later welcomed my sister’s dog into my home for several years when she couldn’t have pets where she lived. Today, I share my home with an adopted pit bull and a cat. Over the years, I’ve also regularly cared for friends’ pets, including dog walks while their people are at work, cat-sitting, and drop-in visits for playtime and companionship. I understand the importance of following each pet’s routine and helping them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their person is away. I genuinely love dogs of all breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I’m comfortable with big, enthusiastic, and outgoing dogs, and I’m equally attentive to those who are shy, sensitive, or need extra reassurance. I love playing fetch, going on interesting walks—which I call “sniffaris”—cuddling, and finding the kind of interaction that makes each pet happiest. Over the past five years, caring for my 8-year-old pit bull has given me hands-on experience with anxious attachment, high energy, and overstimulation in public spaces. I worked with a professional trainer to better understand his needs and learned practical techniques for reading body language, recognizing triggers, reinforcing desired behaviors, and responding calmly when he becomes overwhelmed. Though I’m not a professional dog trainer, I’m comfortable following established training routines and consistently reinforcing the cues and boundaries you use at home. Whether your dog wants an active buddy or a calm, reassuring companion, I’ll meet them where they are and care for them like one of my own.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I currently provide walks and drop-in visits in clients’ homes. Before our first visit, I’ll take time to learn about your pet’s routine, personality, boundaries, and any safety concerns so I can provide consistent care in their familiar environment. During walks, my attention stays fully on your dog. Aside from taking the occasional photo, I keep my phone put away and stay aware of our surroundings. My own dog loves to eat anything he can find, so I’ve developed a habit of closely watching what dogs sniff or pick up along the way. I’m careful when handling doors, gates, and leashes, and I avoid situations that could make your pet uncomfortable. My goal is to keep every walk safe and engaging, with plenty of opportunities to sniff and explore. During drop-ins, I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, playtime, and household access while giving your pet the right balance of affection, activity, and personal space. I’ll respect your home, secure it carefully when I leave, and send you an update after every visit. In fact, sharing photos with pet parents is one of my favorite parts of the job!

Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know about their usual walking habits, any triggers or situations we should avoid, and the cues or training routines you’d like me to reinforce. It’s also helpful to know how they respond to unfamiliar people and animals, whether getting their leash or harness on is easy or challenging, and if they tend to pull, pick things up, or become overstimulated during walks. Please also share any medical needs, allergies, mobility limitations, or other details that will help me keep your pet safe and happy.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
