Safety, trust & environment

Because I have a fur baby of my own, I understand how important it is to be aware of potential safety hazards, staying vigilant and calm if a problem arises, and most importantly, reading the cues your pet is trying to convey. My priorities are the safety and comfort of your pet.

Information Tedy H. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your animal has any allergies, medications, special diet, behaviors you want me to be aware of, specific routines, or favorite activities!

A typical day

I love to go on long walks with my own doggo, so I would be more than happy to provide your pet with long walks or take them to the dog park! We definitely will play tug of war or a nice game of fetch! I learned the importance of enrichment for animals in my training at school, so if you would like me to create some unique activities to do with your pet, I would be more than happy to do so!

Pet care experience

Hi there! I’m Tedy, your friendly neighborhood animal lover (think Spider-Man, but with more fur and fewer skyscrapers) 🐕 🗓️ Availability: 📍 Service Area: I split my time between Forest Hills (Queens) and South Hempstead / Oceanside / Rockville Centre (Long Island), and prioritize bookings in these areas, but I’m happy to discuss nearby locations. 📌 Month of May Update: I’m actively booking throughout May, with the exception of the last two weeks (18th-29th), when I’ll be away on vacation. 📌 Starting June: My schedule will be shifting as I transition into working in the medical field as a Patient Care Technician. I’ll continue offering pet care part-time, with updated availability to follow. ⸻ ⭐ At-a-Glance Care: * 10+ years of experience (dogs, cats & exotics) * Pet CPR & First Aid trained * Medication administration (oral, topical & intravenous/injectable) * B.A. in Psychology + minor in Animal Behavior * Experienced with anxious, senior, & special-needs pets ⸻ About Me: I bring 10+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and exotic animals in my community, shelters, and veterinary clinic settings. My approach blends compassion, attentiveness, and science-based care. I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Animal Behavior from Canisius University, where I studied how animals think, learn, and connect with the world around them. This allows me to tailor care to each pet’s unique personality, emotional needs, and routines. I’m trained in pet CPR and first aid and experienced in safely administering oral, topical, & injectable medications. Whether your pet needs a special diet, medication schedule, post-walk baths, or extra reassurance, I’m attentive and detail-oriented every step of the way. I’m also the proud parent of a 10-year-old Maltipoo who loves making new furry friends. I understand how important trust and consistency are, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and emotional well-being always come first. I take pride in building trust with every animal I meet and creating a calm, supportive environment where they feel secure and loved. ⸻ 🐾 Services; * Dog walking * Drop-in Visits * Feeding & Medication Administration * House Sitting (seasonal availability) 🚫 Currently not boarding in my home ⸻ 🩺 Health & Safety: Please let me know in advance if your pet has any medical conditions, allergies, or parasite-related concerns. This helps me take proper precautions to keep all pets — including my own — safe and healthy. I’m always happy to accommodate medical needs with care and attention. ⸻ 💛 Extra: I’m also known for helping lost or injured animals — from birds and raccoons to kittens and pups. If you or someone you know ever finds a stray or injured animal, feel free to reach out. I work closely with shelters and rehabilitation centers to support safe recovery or rehoming. If I’m ever unavailable, I’m always happy to recommend trusted caregivers I personally know. ⸻ ✨ First-time Rover user? Use my code TEDYH49678 for a discount on your first booking! I can’t wait to meet you and your pets - furry, feathered, or scaly - and become another one of their favorite humans 🐾🐶🐱🐍🐠🦎

This is our second time hiring Tedy to watch after our cat Baloo, and we couldn’t be happier! Shes so kind, incredibly communicative and has a natural gift with animals. We felt so assured our entire trip abroad that Baloo was in the best hands. Thank you!

Tedy did a great job with our cat. She was very communicative, and took care of all our cat's needs. We felt very secure with her watching our cat. Would recommend.
