Most of our days already revolve around animals. We’ve both worked in a shelter, we have three dogs and a cat at home, and somehow there always seems to be a foster mixed in too. We have experience with everything from puppies and bottle babies to seniors, medical cases, large dogs, nervous dogs and dogs with more complicated behaviors. Taylor’s background also includes several years in boarding and daycare, shelter work and running volunteer and foster programs. Nelson has worked hands-on with shelter animals and also has farm and livestock experience. Because of that, we’re pretty comfortable with the stuff that might make someone else nervous. Medications, detailed routines, shy dogs, big dogs, weird quirks, dogs who need some space at first, all of it. We pay attention to body language and let animals warm up to us instead of expecting them to immediately be comfortable with a stranger. We’re pretty particular about who we trust with our own animals, so we get wanting to know they’re in good hands. We’ll stick to their normal routine, send plenty of pictures and updates, and give them the same kind of care we’d want for ours.

Safety, trust & environment
We always follow the routine and boundaries you already have in place. We pay close attention to body language, avoid greetings with unfamiliar dogs on walks, and double check doors, gates, leashes and harnesses. We’re comfortable with crates, medications and pets who need a little more time or space to warm up. If there’s anything specific you do at home to keep your pet safe and comfortable, we’re happy to follow it.

Taylor is our go-to petsitter. She is very loving toward our pets and follows all instructions we give her. She has experience caring for our grumpy cats, administering their anxiety medication, and making them feel safe enough with her to cuddle and play. She has experience caring for our large, energetic dog, including recovery care after two separate surgeries. She is a great communicator and always prioritizes the health and happiness of the pets she takes care of.

Schedule
Our schedules are pretty flexible and having two of us makes it easier to accommodate different visit times. We’re available throughout the week and on weekends for walks and drop-ins, including recurring visits and vacation care. Just let us know what your pet’s normal routine looks like and we’ll do our best to work around it.

- We’d like to know their normal routine, feeding schedule, medications and anything else you want kept consistent while you’re away. We also want to know how they are with new people and other animals, along with any reactivity, resource guarding, escape attempts or other behaviors we should be aware of. And of course tell us their favorite treats, toys and anything else that helps us get to know them!
